Biotin

At my 2 week check up, Dr. Pupkova said it would be fine to begin taking biotin to (hopefully) minimize hair loss.

But...I see that the biotin available is in wildly varying doses. (Comparing GNC and WalMart, for example.)

Can anyone share what dosage they take?

be careful with biotin because it will cause hair all over to grow... so if you have some on your face (aka not talking about peach fuzz)... it will cause it to grow too...

So not a great thing to take if you have PCOS or going through the change hehehe...

I take Biotin  5000mcg, have been taking it for 2 years and I have not had any abnormal hairgrowth on my face or any other part of my body, and being Italian I always had facial hair that I have waxed but it did not get any wore with the Biotin my hair fell out and now it is thick again when I first started out I took 2 capsules a day now I only take 1 and I also take 50mg zinc

I am so not telling anyone where I had hair grow! Nope I am keeping my mouth shut on this one.

I was taking two capsules of the GNC "hair and nails" formula...I forget how much was in it total.

I do know that for me, personally, I had hair growing at higher rates on my legs and what not...and handfuls apon handfuls of it coming out of my head.  I was CONSISTENTLY reaching fluid/protein goals from 3 weeks out...had started taking the biotin at about 2 weeks out and continued until about 12 weeks out when it was apparant it was doing absolutely nothing but causing me to swallow more pills a day and have to shave more often, LOL

Some people have had REALLY good luck with it - and I hope that's the case for you!
