Gateway insurance has now been turning down everyone.  They are citing that people need to do their 6 month physician supervised diet with a nutritionalist as well.
They're basturds.

I can appreciate how you must be upset.  I thought I was lucky in that my insurance approved me right away without any 6 month program.  Now that I am post op, I admit that I might have benefitted from such a program; in fact, I know I would have.

I don't regret the way i was approved and had my surgery, but I must admit....the 6 month program would have been something good for me.

Take care of yourself and do whatever it takes to get things approved!  Don't let this little bump int he road deter you from your goals!

Thanks Jayne.  I've just finished a 12 month program and now have been told my Gateway to do 6 more months.    It's a bit extreme.  I'm soooo depressed but am trying to stay hopeful.

Considering that it appears that the rules have changed...that just sux.  But...in the long run another 6 mos isn't the end of the world.  Disappointing doesn't begin to describe it though!

Keep on keeping on!

Gee I am sorry to read this but hang in there you still have us to keep you going and six months will fly by before you know it.  Baby steps one day at a time and you'll be here.  Chin up.
