First Big Wow!
I was sooooooooooo excited!
I entered Kohls to shop with my hubby & daughter. As we entered, I saw someone I knew going through the checkout. She used to teach at my preschool years earlier and also was a substitute teacher for us this past year. I probably haven't seen her since May or April.
I walked over to her to say "Hello" and she looked at me as if she had no idea who I was. I said "How's your summer going? Did you find any good bargains?" and then she smiled in relief. She said that she didn't know who I was until she heard my voice. Wow!
I don't think I look THAT different. Much, much better...but not so different that someone wouldn't recognize me?!? I don't think I could stop grinning! My husband was shocked. He also doesn't think that I look that different, but I reminded him that she hasn't seen me in months. He sees me everyday and probably doesn't see any difference. We were both shocked!
WooHoo! Couldn't be happier! Keep 'em coming!

There will be many more to come, keep a journal, it is fun to look back at it later, when they stop coming. Congrats on what is truly the beginning of many such moments!
Best wishes, Laureen

I read this post the other night at work and then couldn't respond to it...but wanted to say congratulations on such a GREAT wow!
I went to a conference at work awhile after surgery and saw one of the women who had oriented me when I first became a nurse....so I said hello to her and her face almost fell off her head - she said the same thing "I didn't know who you were until you opened your mouth!"
Such a FABULOUS feeling (although a little weird, too!)

Can't help but feel great about this and my recovery period.
So far, so great with the pureed food.
Tonight I babysat a friends 3 children (4,8,9) and handled them eating ice cream and chocolatey cookies with no problem! I took my meal along (ricotta, tomato sauce & pureed spinach) and really enjoyed it! Yum!
Thanks for all of your support....and fabulous recipes!
Keep 'em coming!
