Great question.  I, too, find that I now love tomatoes, here I used to not eat them at all.  The only thing I miss is Tastykakes which I don't eat because I'm a big time dumper -- thank God.

Uh....I'm not sure if you should know this or not....

but there are a few varieties of sf tasty kakes out there.  I haven't found a sf variety of their "kandy kakes" which is a DAMN good thing....cause that's the last thing I need

Ha Ha This is a great topic. I love all my new food i eat except ricotta.. Got to be in the mood for it and its not very often..

Foods i miss. RIght now its kinda hard. My body is craving some weird  things!!! I really want to eat sugar and before surgery i didnt touch it much so now its weird to be craving it. Ive been craving Frito's. I would like to have a big fat piece of cheesecake or something like that.. But for the most part. I grab a yogurt or some FF/SF ice cream or even a protein shake.. Helps but man do i feel like diving into a pool of cheesecake!!

Cheesecake factory has a sf cheesecake that they serve w/ fresh strawberries and it's AWESOME.

Are you gonna be at Liz's?  if my schedule allows, I will bring some of my mini sugar free cheesecakes for ya.  They are super close to original in taste and texture.  Not 100%, but close.

There is no one thing I can say has become a fave of mine, variety is the key to my palate and always has been, though I can say I enjoy spicier things more now than ever, garlic, onions, curry. . .all good. . . Pam I'm with you on the Edamame. . .  love to eat at the Japanese restaurant, curry udon soup, spicy wasabe, pepper yellowfin tuna. . .

The one thing I miss, and it's not a question of what we can't have, but what I cannot tolerate since surgery, is a grilled beef hamburger!  I can't tolerate chopped beef in any form and I've had more than my share of veggie burgers and turkey burgers, but once in a while, especially at a bbq, I wish I could have nice juicy cheeseburger.  A small price to pay overall!

There have been times I wished I were a dumper. . .  instead I have to practice restraint, which given the realities of my pre-WLS is not all that hard to do, as I never wish to be there again.

The only thing I miss is brownies and frosting... but not together... lol... I have found great subs for everything else but those 2... I know a bunch of people have liked Liz's brownie recipe but none of us (me, Jeremy and Lore) liked it... and nothing has come close to right texture etc of real frosting... but I normally don't crave sweets even before surgery... but it would be nice to be able to make a cake with Lore and use a frosting that if i got it on my hands I could lick it off and not worry about it killing me...

And there have been a bunch of postings for cheesecakes on here... I think i have some of the recipes that aren't mine saved... I think lol...

but right now I am straving so I am off to get some food into me lol...

I agree w/ you Shannon.  I DID like Liz's brownies...but they were not the brownies I loved as a kid...the one that I still have the recipie memorized from making it so many times.

I miss two things one is azzip with extra cheese and corned beef on it and bagel, lox and cream cheese with an egg bagel and slice of tomatoe but I know I can live without them because they were among lots of foods that got me here.  Or should I say my love of those foods? But if God would give me one hour to eat whatever I wanted I still wouldn't do it because I know how hard we all worked to get here.  I know that sounds crazy but its true.  Oh and I too am hooked on the sf iced vanilla coffee at McD's OMG it tastes like a kaluha and cream.  I love it!  Now that we can have and if someone says otherwise I am going to throw such a hissy fit!  Kidding!
