a wow that kinda pissed me off

I guess I should not be mad.... *however* when I tried to withdrawl +$1k from my bank account today (with a teller) and produced my drivers licence she did not believe it was me.  No joke, had to get a manager and I even showed them my work badge as a second form of id - I was 'large' in that picture as well.  I almost resorted pulling out my iphone and showing them facebook pics to prove I was who I was. 


Kinda silly.... kinda pissed me of as I was on my lunch break and spent most time at the bank.

action 1: I am trying to get a new drivers license this weekend or soon
action 2: I've tried to get a new work badge but cannot unless it's not working.....it *might* get too close to a shredder later this week
action 3:  I might also look into getting the passport updated..

silly wow but a wow none the less... strangers don't believe I am who I am when they see old pictures.

Funny you should bring this up. I don't see any resemblence to me in my drivers license, however, when I have to provide it, and I explain it doesn't look like me, they all say, ohh, I can tell its you, so how did you do it. They all want to know what magic spell I used to lose soooo much weight in what they consider a short time.

I tried to get a new photo lic and they wouldn't let me... so call before you go and stand in line... but I think mine expires next July... so I am going to wait until then... but I think I'm lucky that I still just pull my hair back in a ponytail and wear glasses (like in my driver lic) most people just go with it lol... but even skinny I had kind of chubby cheeks lol...

But at least they were being careful with your money lol... as pissy as that was lol...

I got my new work badge, but haven't worried about the DL yet. I always wonder when I show my DL "do they even realize i'm 1/2 the person I was" lol No one ever says anything. oh well.

Wow! That stinks but it is also cool..that you have def made NOTICEABLE Progress!!!! Yes it stinks that you wasted your lunch and may have to get a new pic id..but still its a positive that all your hard work is def paying off!!!!

I went tothe outlets on Saturday and used my credit card twice...twice the sales girls asked to see photo id and twice I got the look at the drivers license...then looked at me....then looked at the license again...then back at me...before sorta smiling and deciding it must be me...they didnt say anything but I could tell what they were thinking...I am almost unrecognizable from the pic..but I am going to wait till it expires to have it retaken......I HATE THE DMV!!! LOL

Well its good that your bank teller was very careful not to give your money away to a stranger - look at it that way. And you don't look like the same person and that's good - but yeah, it can be frustrating sometimes. But its a good frustration - so yeah, something awful might happen to your badge...not sure about the driver's license.

I had to get all new ID a while back when I was jetsetting around on job interviews. I know I would have been turned away from my planes, especially post-9/11.

Does your work badge have a smartcard chip in it? If so, put it in the freezer overnnight and give it a good smack with a hammer the next day. That should "fix" it.

If it has a magnetic strip, just rub a fridge magnet on it back and forth vigorously a few times. Should also work.

When I flew last year, they would not accept that it was me in the passport photo.
Luckily, I had my drivers license with me that had a picture that resembled me a bit more.

So, I know that u feel like u wasted ur lunch hour - but at least u know that your bank is not going to give away your hard earned money to just anyone.

I can feel your pain on this WOW moment...Whrn we flew they didn't take my passport as ID my license was renewed two weeks after surgery so that picture was not much better I said look I had gastric bypass and have ID from my surgery center the girl said that was ok and finally let me go...Dennis and me both smiled and went on our way deep down it felt good once I knew a cavity search was not in my future.

I was lucky my drivers license expired this past nov so I got the new one, wow then I saw the difference , but my passport I need to renew.............been ten years now and that really shows the before and after..............................but to look at it this way, be glad they are checking your ID, what if someone else had been trying to use your information....last week I got a notice from Citibank who I have been with since l985 and someone accessed my credit card info and they found it before me and issued me a new card,......all those years I had my number memorized.......now though have a new one and its safe....................
