it is awful, but SO worth it! And remember it is for your own good! It helps to shrink the liver and make his job much easier and safer for you.

Hang in there and I promise in a year you will be SOOOOOO glad you did it!

You can do it! I promise. I 10 days also. I was not allowed yogurts or jello. I was allowed SF CIB, water and broth. My fat @$$ was miserable and unbearable to be around. I pity my co-workers, patients and family those 10 days. I was not pleasant. But..........I stuck to it, got through it, and now it's just a distant memory!

Hang in there! It's for your own good!

Trust me if you can't do this 10 day liquid diet you are not ready for the surgery and the commitments that go along with it. The liquid diet is hard the first couple of days but after that it gets a lot easier - try to keep yourself busy thinking of things other than food. And you'll be surprised at how much weight you can lose and how much better it will be for your surgery. So don't cheat - follow the plan - and best of luck to you on your surgery.

Ok I am going to start by saying that Dr. Boe was not my surgeon and I did NOT have to do 10 days on liquids.

That said..... Kari is not doing 10 days on liquids, she has been on liquids for 10 days as of yesterday and has to go to August 4th because Barix gave her a new surgery date. So it is more like 17 days.

Kari you are doing such a great job already. You and I have talked to much in the last few months and I totally feel where are you. You CAN do this, you WILL do this, and dont let anyone get you down or upset.

I can speak for ONE day of liquids before my surgery and it was pure torture to be the one who had to sit there and watch the family eat, while you had water or broth. Torture to be the one who had to sit in the resturant that day with my girls while they ate and I had to hold my breath in fear that if I looked around I would burst out crying. It was only ONE day, but it was my small torture.

I know for a fact, because we know eachother off the internet, that you would NEVER cheat and risk not having this life saving surgery. Be strong hun and if you need I will drop everything to come hang out with you and we will do liquids together, although my liquid may be grape vodka. LOL

We love you girl, be strong.

i had to do it for 14 days and it was very hard, but now it is a distant memory.
