Dreams and Dinner Plates
Hi Everyone,
I had the strangest dream last night and thought I would share.
In my dream I had this huge plate of food I was eating. I was about half way through the plate of food when I realized I shouldn't be eating that much and I was going to make myself sick.
I don't think I need to be Freud to understand the meaning.
I have been working on dealing with emotional hunger and this is probably just another manisfestation of it.
Does anyone else have dreams about eating huge amounts of food?
Thank goodness I can't get calories from dreaming about eating.
Joylyn

I had a food dream not long after surgery - maybe a couple of months - about chocolate layer cake. That was always my favorite dessert from the time I was a child. I was dreaming that I was walking around my office and had to keep passing thru our kitchenette and there was a huge chocolate cake in there that people kept trying to make me eat - one time around my sister was in the kitchen and actually tried forcing the cake down my throat - and I dreamt that I grabbed her arm and was forcing it back away from me.
Unfortunately for my little dog Jude he was the actual 'thing' I grabbed in my sleep and I must have squeezed him pretty hard because all of a sudden I felt him twist out of my hand and yelp!! OMG I felt so horrible - like the worst person in the world for doing that!! I held the little guy and cuddled him and kept telling him how sorry I was.
So yeah, the food dreams can be scarey but that's the only one I remember vividly.

I had a dream early out (I think it might have been on pre op liquid or early post op liquid) that I had ordered a pizza and "hidden" various slices of it.....in my car. I would pull down my visor and a piece of pizza would unfold from the mirror...there was a piece of pizza in the glove compartment...and I believe one under the floor mat. The part with the visor is the most memorable for me. And in the dream I would constantly be "going for a drive" which always entailed eating a piece of pizza.
