Help Quick-pain...blockage...foamies
Hi everyone. I was wondering if there is anyone outthere who could help me, I just finished eating some chicken chili and all of a sudden felt immense pain and pressure. I feel like there is something blocking the pouch, I've thrown up foamies and acid but nothing else and the pain is all the wy up my throat, in my back everywhere. Do I wait it out or should I go to my ER? I dont feel like I can get anything down. I'd appreciate any advice, its been about 45 minutes now. Thanks. oh and I'm 10 monthss out

Get up and walk around - try a few sips of water, if still not feeling any better or you are short of breath you best go to the ER to be safe!
*hugs* hang in there and let us all know how you make out! A call to your surgeon might be a good idea too - there is always someone on call! They can tell you too if you should go to the ER.

That's a toss up.....no pun intended. It could very well just be it being stuck....and it could be medical such as cardiac.
Definately put a call out to the surgeon just in case...and try the walking around thing. If it persists definately go to the er...the best case scenario is that it is something stuck...and they might even be able to give you a smooth muscle relaxant to help things slide down during the time it is occuring....
let us know what happens

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Thanks everyone! I ended up getting really sick and finally threw up everything in my tummy, which released whatever was blocking it. That was the worst pain I have had. I had cold sweats, shaking, pain...sheww! But I feel so much better now!! So, no more chicken chiki for me for awhile. UGH Thanks again for the advice!!!!

Late in posting but glad to hear it finally came up and you were feeling better. Heck at 15 months out I got a stinking chicken finger stuck at a Phillies game one night and had to leave after the 2nd inning because I got so sick - and unfortunately I couldn't bring the chicken up - just loads of foam. My poor friend thought I was spewing aliens out of my mouth in South Philly - nice picture, eh?? But I was in pain and misery for several hours - best thing for me is to curl up in a fetal position, under the covers and let whatever it is process and pass thru my pouch. And yes, it feels like a heart attack would feel - I'm guessing here since I've never had one. But the pain is so intense - my nose runs - my eyes water - the foamies are just freaking nasty.
So no matter how far out we are there are times when sh*t happens - I know that stupid chicken finger was dry and I gulped it down way too fast because I waited too long to eat. My bad.
And yeah, I swear I'll never do it again and you know what - I will - because I tend to forget sometimes that I'm surgically altered and always have to respect that.

OMG, I cant imagine going through that somewhere in public! You are right, it was like a heart attack, it was the WORST! I've had some uncomfotable moments before, but nothing like this. I'm so glad I could throw it all up and it instantly cleared. I had read all about the foamies before the surgery and now I can say I have experienced them! I was a mess thats for sure!
Thanks!
Thanks!
