DO IT!! Get a bike!! OMG I am having so much fun with mine - they recently put the final pave coat on my development roads so they're nice and smooth (and relatively flat) and nothing feels better or clears your head then getting on a bike and letting the wind hit you in the face as you ride (and the occasional bug!).

I hadn't ridden a bike in at least 30 years, if not more - it only took a few turns around the driveway to get comfortable to venture out onto the roads in our development. I'm not adventerous enough to go out on main roads but I can get plenty of riding time in where I live.

I got a cruiser bike at Walmart for less than $100 (including tax) and it was already put together - but there are tons of yard sales now and maybe you can find one there. Mine has no gears or hand brakes - just a plain old bicycle.

I think this would be a great event - I hope we can pull it together - and I hope you're there on your new bike!!

Theresa, I would love to come but I'll be in the middle of working 3 12 hr. shifts over that weekend. Perhaps we can get together at another time.

Anyone know where I can rent a bike for a few hours, don't want to make an investment if its going to cause a setback?

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

Hi Teresa:

I would definitely be interested in that on a different date. Great idea!

Count me in for September!  Would bring the 2 teenagers and they could give lessons on roller blading.  Keep me posted.

I walk on that trail all the time. It is perfectly flat. The Betzwood picnic area has restrooms and picnic tables; maybe a picnic afterwards for those who are interested? Also, there are two options for walking/biking/blading on that trail - from Betzwood towards Philadelphia OR from Betzwood towards Oaks. I recommend the towards Oaks option because for some reason, most people go the other way and it gets more crowded. Just throwing my 2-cents in! It is mostly shaded on the Betzwood towards Oaks route. September would be beautiful.
