My pcp has been GREAT about documenting rashes, etc and tells me I'm ready to pursue plastic surgery; I have also been diagnosed recently with 3 herniated disks in my lower back; which she tells me will be more beneficial in insurance covering my plastics, more so than rashes, etc.
What I'm looking for are anyone that has been through the process already, what they did to get insurance coverange, if anyone has been fortunate enough to get their batwings covered, as well!  I need ALOT of work!  Help!!!

I had quite a bit of documentation when I went in for my approval and was denied. I have 3 herniated disks and 3 decompressed disks as well as suffering with chronic degenerative disk disease. My chiropractor wrote a great letter for me but they still denied me. I am 2 1/2 years out and down 140ish pounds, I still carry what weight I have left in my belly and was going for a tummy tuck w/ the muscle plication.

At this point I have decided to have my babies first then try again.

Best of luck getting your PS covered!!! THe more info that you have the better your chances of fighting and winning with the insurance company from what I have heard. Oh and I was also told to be a pest - you have a red spot under your arms - go to the Dr and have it documented!

8 years ago, I had horrible back pain that landed me in the hospital for 10 days since I couldn't move my finger without being in horrible pain. They had to teach me to walk again and everything. I was only 26. They said surgery wouldn't help so there was no poin in doing it. I had lost 90 pounds and was about 250. I had a hanging belly so I went to a plastic surgeon without any documentation, I was just curious if insurance would cover it, sure enough the next day I was approved. Once I got the belly removed the horrible pain just went away. I still had some aches but nothing like it was. It was great. I didn't even go to my PCP about it. I just woke up one day and make the PS appt. Well, I had that done and then a few years later had 2 more kids, gainned more weight and then lost 140 pounds and I still have a flat stomach. I love my stomach...lol. Good luck. I think it all depends on your insurance. I wish I could get my wings done. That is the only thing I want. I would love a butt however, I don't think I would like to sit on butt implants all day...lol.
