This is so funny. I just bought ring gaurds last week because two of my rings fell off in bed the other night. My fingers have gotten so much smaller. If I lost my wedding band I would be heartbroken. Mine belonged to my grandmother too just like Liz. The story is that when her and Pap were married he couldn't afford a ring. Several years later he bought it for her for Christmas but actually put it on the tree and made her find it. So temporary ring gaurds for me until I am at goal I am not taking any chances.

temporary ring guards would be what I would do. I don't need to worry about that anymore, but I do have other rings that I would like to wear but won't because my fingers have shrunk so much.

I wear white gold. So when my wedding rings didn't fit anymore, I got a nice sterling silver band to wear for the time being. Then I had my rings resized.

Then.......we split up and I sold them.....ha ha ha ha!

Definately get a guard or inexpensive band till you have stablized at a weight.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I did get mine resized, cleaned and polished. I only wear white gold so they did need to be polished. I thought I was pretty much done losing weight then I had my hip replacement 7 weeks ago and now they are big, even in the summer so I know I need them resized again. My fingers are always bigger in the summer. I just wasn't able to wear them for months and really wanted to. I can wear them now, they won't fall off but they spin around too much. I always take all my jewelry off when I get home from work...well, right now I am recovereing from surgery so I'm not at work and I haven't worn them in a few weeks since I don't get out much. I would personally wait so you don't have to get them done twice. I only dropped 10 pounds since getting them done and it did make a difference.

I bot the ring guards and found they were very uncomfortable... So, I simply wrapped some nice angora type yarn around the ring to make a padded ring guard (cheaper, too).. Working well so far.
