back from vacation
Hi Folks!
Just wanted to let you know that I got back LATE last night (got home about 1:30 this morning) from a wonderful vacation in sunny, incredibly hot florida. Got on the scale with some trepidation this morning and lost 3 pounds while on vacation! Woo hoo!
I have to say this was the most challenging time post-surg so far. Mostly, it was that our schedules were so irregular and we were catching meals on the run the whole time, and there was little time for "regular" exercise. BUT... it was so hot that it was easy to remember to carry my water with me at all times, which helped. And in that kind of heat, just "gentle" walking (and a lot of it) around the parks counts as some pretty hefty exercise... as does walking in the surf (hadn't realized just how tough that can be!) and chasing a very active 19-month-old. Wherever we went, i tried to make good choices, but definitely found that tougher than expected - a lot of places just didn't HAVE good options available, and I couldn't find sugar-free dessert options anywhere except one place the entire week. But I did the best I could, kept lots of fruit, lowfat cream cheese, hummus, cheese sticks, etc. in the hotel fridge to fill in. I guess it all added up, and I'm very relieved!
I also have to say that I MISSED YOU GUYS! I wasn't spending much time online, so didn't really check in too much, and I missed the camraderie on this site a lot!
Hope you all had a wonderful week and that this next week will be a great one too!
