tough day
I haven't been visiting the boards much due to working /sleeping/ and fighting off depression. I came home from work this morning, let my 2 dogs out, both of which came bouncing out , racing to the door as usual. Back inside expecting breakfast, I was looking at some mail when I realized something wasn't right. My 91/2 year old boxer April was on the floor in the midst of death throws. All I could do was be there for her, it was all over in less than 5 minutes. I assume she had some type of cardiac event. I'm still in shock. I buried her in my yard. Needless to say I haven't slept well today and have to go to work tonight. She was a wonderful dog, who will be truly missed. I don't think my poodle understands that her best friend is gone. Tonight is going to be tough when I go to work.
Isn't it amazing how situations in life good or bad can just blindside you unexpectedly? The mantra to take one day at a time is certainly good advice. Thanks for listening.

We never know why these things happen and we never have the right words to day.......I'll be looking for a bright star in the sky tonight... it will be your boxer telling us she's made to the Rainbow Bridge... that place where all pets go where the fields are green, the sun is warm and all they do is play and rest.
Oh Chris, I am so sorry to hear this news. Dogs are very much a part of the family and it's a very sad day when they pass away. To have to witness it must have been awful. I can't even pretend to know what you're going through right now but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure April is looking down upon you now because, keep in your mind, all dogs go to heaven. I feel bad for your poodle as well. I'm sure it's going to take a little time for him to get used to being alone without his best friend. Hang in there Chris.
