Stickin to the Basics Thursday

OK - yesterday went to hell in a handbasket food wise - today will be better!

B: pork roll on a sandwich thin - OK
S: cheese and crackers - OK but too many crackers
L: roast beef sandwich on hollowed out bread (it's really just crust) - OK
S: fage and peaches - OK
D: scallops and zucchini - Scallops and cucumbers (from my garden! and sour cream)
S: apple and PB maybe

Still high on carbs but I will plan better for tomorrow.

Nicole - I was great until I left work. I went to Michael's (the crafty store) and I started to sweat and feel shaky - knew I needed food pronto! So the nearest place was Wendy's - I got a 99 cent cheese burger and ate that and 1/2 the roll (needed the carbs to get the sugar up), then I went home and had scallops and zucchini a few hours later! OMG it felt like the pre-op days of stopping for drive through and then eating dinner, I almost cried! I know it's not tragic - and I didn't eat a double cheeseburger, fries and a frosty - but it still scared me! Today WILL be better. I also have raging rampant PMS to thank for a few pieces of chocolate candy last night...

that is ok liz i had to do the same thing on my trip. I started sweating and shaking and i had nothing so i had to stop at hardees for a ham and cheese sandwich. We need to come up with some kind of solution to that, that will help it come up quick but that wont make us feel like we failed in some way.

I agree. I know I need carbs when mine gets like that - so maybe I need to have PB crackers in the car or something like that.

I have noticed when I keep things lower carb i dont have the reactive hypoglycemia as much

I did great sticking to my  food plan yesterday and I had a great workout day. Hoping for a repeat today. Yesterday I started my 4th food food journal since surgery. I have an OCD issue with journaling my foods, exercise, and all of the data that goes with it :o)

B: Coffee and Chobani
S: 1 cheese stick
L: Chicken salad on an Arnold thin
S: Chobani or Protein Bar
D: Turkey burger no roll, grilled veggies
S: ??

Food plan. Ugh. Very similar to yesterday - really have to look for things to shake this up a little.
