It must be "way" out there
Okay, punn was intended. I was reading up on the first week following surgery and it says that I need to have protein powder. It also talks about "whey" (not sure what that is). one of the powders it mentions that I have heard of is Isopure. Anyone ever try it? Is it any good? What does whey taste like? Good or bad? It doesn't sound good what ever it is....lol
Whey is a soy protein that they make most of the protein powders out of. You will definately need protein powder when you come home. I wouldn't stock up on anything because your tastes can change drastically post op. I like the necatars - Fuzzy Navel and Cappuccino got me through the liquid face.
I haven't had the isopure. But the Max chocolate protein from GNC is very good.

Isopure zero carb is what my hubby has used since his surgery. All the powders he tried pre-surgery he hated after surgery. This is the only one he's been using for 3 years now. He likes the vanilla the best so I can mix it into other flavors for him. I mix it up into a smoothie using fruit, flavorings in the blender, then put it in the freezer. He likes his frozen.
I like the Isopure zero carb now pre-surgery and am hoping I stay that way. I do not like it frozen at this point.
I purchase it at a store here in PHilly called Champs or online at Cheap Vitamins.com.
It's a lot cheaper at those two locations compared to the $90.00 + it costs at GNC. i think I pay 50 or so on line and 45 or so at teh other store for a big tub of the powder.
