Back in the day....LOL......I honestly only did Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast, and added a scoop of protein powder. there weren't near as many options and accessible proteins then. And I lived on it for 10 days!!!

I wasn't allowed jello, or broth, or anything else. Just shakes and water. But check with your surgeons office to see what all is on the list. Then you can start stocking up and preparing ahead of time. there are SOOOOO many shake recipies now.

Good Luck!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

You'll need milk, and depending on your liquid diet some allow jello, pudding and yogurt so check your guidelines. You should also be able to have beef, chicken and vegetable broth.

Good luck!

Sugar free popsicles counted as liquid for me.

A lot depends on what your surgeon or nutritionist defines as a 'liquid' diet - I had to be on one for 10 days and could have sf popsicles; sf jello; shakes; strained soups. How long do you have to do the liquid diet? A bonus for me was that I lost 17 lbs in those 10 days so it made my surgery much easier because my liver was nice and small and Dr Boe could see everything in there very well. So there is a method to their madness!!

I did the CIB (no sugar added), SF popsicles, broth, water, SF Iced tea, decaff, 100% fruit juice, SF jello. I lost 10 lbs in 8 days (all water, but still it felt good)

Pre op I only drank a prescribed protein drink. They had us on a strict calorie count and they wanted us to follow a specific menue. It was 6 CIB, anything SF, non carb, decaff, SF Popsicles, SF Jello and broth.
