Anxiety at the store

This is going to sound SOOOOOOOO  stupid but I had a panic attack in Kohl's today.  I went in and walked up to the Misses Daisy Fuentes racks.  I found some things to try on and walked around looking for other things.  Every person that came near me had me in a panic.  I was waiting for one of them to say "you are in the wrong section - plus sizes are over there"  Seriously, I thought for certain it was going to happen and I didn't know what I was going to do.  I stopped looking sooner than I wanted to, tried some things on, like the one summer, sleeveless XL dress and decided to get it then high tailed it away from that section.  How lame am I??  How will I shop like this?  I need a buddy next time I think! 

lol the next time you go shopping call me and I will go with you and make you try on a million things lol... and I will honestly tell you if the stuff sucks or not... and when I need new clothes after the baby you can do the same... esp. if the shirt makes my boobs look like ***** worthy boobs lol...

I know my mom was shocked when I walked into a Victoria store and said I'm a 38DDD... what ya got in that size... my mom felt so paniced just being in that store she left... I figured if they wanted my money they would serve me lol... so think of it that way... you want my money... kiss my feet and serve me lol...

btw- i was at the kohl's in Royersford today getting a pillow for my legs lol...

This is one of the situations that I don't panic in! lol I figure that they have NO CLUE who I am shopping for! I spend time in the mens section too and the kids section at times - I'm the only one that knows why I am in that department!

was Brian with ya?  They had some men's polo style shirt for like 9 bucks or something like that and some all kinds of things in the clearence section... pants, shorts, etc...

But, I got something for squirmy... a carter's outfit with a bear's face on the butt... I thought Lore would find that funny lol...

OMG! I know what you mean! Same thing happened to me. I left!!!

I remember the first couple of times I didn't have to shop in the plus sized section. I was COMPLETELY self concious. I felt like everyone was snickering at me and staring at me. And wondering why I was in the dept. It did go away. I got over that eventually. But there are times occasionally that when I am buying something, I feel like the cashier is wondering why the heck I am buying that. (sun dress, tank tops, etc.)

But maybe next time go with a buddy. Shopping with other people was never for me, but it's very helpful to some people.

Lame?? Never!! Just entering a whole new world and sometimes it can be overwhelming. My bff is my favorite person to go shopping with now because she's very 'fashion conscious' and refuses to let me pick up stuff that is too big (I still tend to do that) and she makes me look at different ways to wear things and put things together. At my previous size (4X or 32) there wasn't much to pick from other than big flowy tops and stretch pants, so now that I don't have to wear that stuff anymore its fun to take her with me because she will force me to try new things.

So next time take a friend - let them help you pick new styles out - I'm amazed at what I will wear now - nothing crazy - I'm 52 and don't want to dress like I'm 22 - but I'm glad I don't have to dress like the fat lady at the circus anymore, either!!

I am beyond what other people see and think and love the Daisy line of clothes and if someone were stupid enough to say something to me about being in the wrong section I would tell them to stop breathing my air and go away. Get your tushie back to Kohls they have some nice clothes I check the clearance racks and find some nice things.  Its a shame we don't live near each other I would be honored to hold your hand and shop. You are not lame just getting your feet wet before you jump into the pool.  I say go for it!
