Super Size Me

So tonight I went to the support group at my hospital and it was very enlightening.  They showed the movie Super Size Me.  If you have not already seen it, it is worth it to watch.  I am SOOO glad that this was the one time that I had to bring Siehara with me.  It was a little graphic, but I think she got the idea and the message behind it.  Even though she was bored, I know she was watching because we talked about it on the way home.

The movie is about this very healthy man who decides to eat McDonald's food 3x a day every day for a month.  It shows all of the health issues that he deals with along the way, including but not limited to weight gain, increased blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, fatty liver, heart palpitations, addiction, etc

I am so glad I made it that group tonight.  I found it on YouTube.  Here is the link.  It's over an hour and a half long, but so worth it IMO

I saw it years ago, and while I never really like McDonalds - I haven't been there since.... I guess it's the same for all fast food places, thank goodness I don't eat at those places anymore - very eye opening

Lisa--
I saw it when it came out...ugg it was graphic and disturbing but VERY ENLIGHTENING...I have not touched McDonald's food since and never will.

My step-daughter had to watch it as part of her Health Class in high school and she said the same thing...she would rather eat healthy than deal with all the stuff he went through.

So the movie definitely has a message worth listening to!!

I also stopped eating McDonald's after seeing that movie.

McDonald's became a quick stop for bathroom breaks or if I "needed" a diet coke...nothing more. (Hubby still likes their breakfast sandwiches when we travel, though.)

If you liked the movie, you'll love the book. It's 50x better and more informative, without the unecessary "fictionalizations."

ETA:

My bad... I'm thinking of "Fast Food Nation," which is a good movie, and a great book.

Super Size Me was pretty good!
