Questions about Wii games
Hey everyone I know that alot of you have Wii Fit and love it. I have a gym membership but never actually get my butt there. (It takes about thirty minutes one way and we drive a big old Tahoe so gas is an issue) Anyhow I got it in my head today that maybe what I need to try is Wii Fit so that it is right here at home with me. I was looking on the Game Stop site and discovered that there are several different fittness games for the Wii. One coming this fall I think that has a camera that will project your image on the tv and show you how well you are doing the exercises. Anyhow I just wondered what "games" you all have tried and how much you like them. And also what price points am I looking at. My 13 yr old has wanted a Wii for awhile and I would like to see him off the couch and moving.(he is a certified couch potatoe, video game and tv junkie) He actually agreed this morning that we could trade in the PS3 and games toward the price of the Wii. So can't wait to hear your opinions. Thanks Belinda
I love the Wii fit. I only get a chance to play it a few times per week. My 11 yo is NOT the type to go outside and play. I have to make him. But he plays the Wii fit and likes it. My 54 yo mom even has her own Mii on it and loves it. As soon as she comes over, she breaks it out.
I think people either love it or hate it. We make a competition out of it and try to beat each others scores or times, etc. To make it more fun for everyone, we take 10 minute turns. That way no one has to wait forever to get on it.
Wii Fit cost me 90 bucks. There are other games you can buy that are compatible with the board. So you can change it up some. I plan on trying another one once we unlock everything on this game.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
We love the Wii and hopefully within the next 2 months I'll actually get to try our Wii Fit for the first time. I will finnally be under the 330 lb limit (little teeny tiny print that they put on the side of the box shows there's a limit) Actually it will be the second time - the first time was when we brought it out for the first time with friends visiting to try it ... boy was I embarassed ... it said something along the lines of "recalculating , recalculating ... please step off - unable to verify weight - please try again later .".. or something like that .... The board might as well have screamed OUCH .. YOU'RE HURTING ME ... THAT was a fun night !!!!
Hi Belinda -
We have the Wii and Wii fit. It's a lot of fun. I enjoy the game that comes with the Wii Fit board. There are aerobic type exercises like step, hula hoop and jogging. There are also yoga, strength and balance exercises. I think it's definitely worth the $90.00. It cracks me up when you get up on it and it goes..."ooohhh", like you are killing it just by stepping on it.
As for your son, we have Sean White snowboarding. It has cool music and is harder than you might think. Very good exercise. And Rock Band...it's expensive, but so worth it. We have so much fun doing it. I'm the "drummer"
I do NOT recommended Carnival Games. In my opinion, it is very lame....

I agree with Lisa- the Wii Carnival game sucks!
I love the Wii Fit! I need to get on there more- no more excuses!
I like how it has different games "locked" and you have to work out more to open them- great incentive to keep going!
My nephews love the Wii sports (golfing, tennis, bowling, baseball) and Wii Ski. They just got rock band and they are too young for it (6 yo and 3 yo) but I love it!!! It is great.
I want to get them the outdoor adventure game next- looks like it is a good workout and a lot of fun :)

Hey Belinda,
We just bought our Wii and Wii Fit system at Sams club, they seemed to have the best deal. We payed about $325 for both. Go to the store, not online it is actually cheaper. We love Wii sports especially bowling and tennis. I have tried Wii play, which is not bad. We always seem to go back to bowling or tennis. I have tried some things on the Wii fit, but I am only seven weeks out from surgery and still having some issues with ability. I will keep trying though...Good luck to you. By the way, since we got the system we spend more family time together and even my six yr old daughter wants to play...

I love the Wii and the Wii Fit. BUT - now that I've found EA Sports Active, I realize that we really don't need the balance board as much. It comes with resistance band and nunchuk holder (nunchuk is required for the game). It has tailored workouts - 30 day challenge, which builds on each previous day and didn't repeat any workouts over the entire time. You can also do pre-set workouts or create your own from a couple of hundred components. It has cardio, strength, endurance, agility, sports, etc. VERY nice. If you have the balance board, you can choose to use it with any of your workouts and it adds a nice component to it.
The Wii Fit workouts are very nice. but the level of the workouts aren't as intense as with Active.
I also have and like Grand Slam Tennis. The challenge is tough, but it's a lot of fun.
Hope this helps!
