Day 1-5DPT
Well I just wanted to post for those of us doing the 5DPT. I have my morning down. Only lunch and dinner to go! LOL
I had my morning coffee, then had a protein shake for breakfast. I am drinking a big glass of water right now.
I am feeling good about getting through today with liquids only. By 5 or 6 tonight? Who knows. But I will get through it.
How is eveyone else doing?

I'm in. I'm working on my 1st protein shake (Click Espresso)w/6oz skim milk & 6oz water. I'm feeling OK so far. I assume around 3:30pm the sugar/carb monster will rear it's ugly head.
Why is it that whenever you restrict food everything on TV/radio is about food? I think I will also refrain from watching TV for the next 5 days as well.

well as is the strooy of my life i wait until the last minute for everything. I did nothing this weekend to prepare for the week ahead so when 12 o'clock rolled around I was starving after only having had a protein shake this morning.
So i took my butt to Acme and stocked up on:
Soups (green pea, cream of chicken and beef broth)
SF Strawberry Jell-o
SF Dark Choc Pudding
0% Fage
SF chewing gum
So I should be set now for the next day and a half foodwise. Feeling pretty good. I have to remember that I'm only alowed 15 minutes to eat at a time. I've been working on this soup (while I work) for at least 20 minutes. I'm still hungry but I need to put it aside and follow the rules.
I've had my first revelation however, and that is I really need to focus on meal time being a singular event. I'm famous for eating while watching TV or sitting at the PC and mentally i'm not connected to what I am doing. I think this leads to overreating, eating too fast and grazing.

I am only doing the protein shakes day 1. I will add soup tomorrow. Not sure why I decided this, but I did and am sticking to it.
I also graze. Especially at work. I do not get breaks or an official lunch break. So I literally have to eat between rooming patients, answering the phone etc. I cannot change that. It's my job. But it takes me an hour sometimes to eat a meal because of that.

I'm doing great. I had my second protein shake...it is sooo good. I tried an eggface shake recipe and I LOVE it so it's easy for me to drink. I have a hair appt at 3:30pm so I'll be there for about 2 hours then have to get the kids. Works out perfect for my first day. I just hope I can sleep tonight. The last 3 nights I have been up most of the night then head downstairs to eat thinking that would make me sleep...WRONG. I weighed in this morning so we'll see how much I actually lose doing this diet. I can't wait until day 3 so I can have eggs...lol.
So far, so good - but isn't the truth that everyone around me is bringing in chocolate and other yummy looking and smelling food today. It seems like I can do this... It actually seems better when I have this type of restriction. I am much better able to resist other foods when I am on a strict regimine. Not good when I am left to my own devices :)
