Congratulations on that last Hoop. I've been in the process of beginning the journey since last year. I had surgery, then complications, then it's been an uphill struggle since to find a surgeon that is experienced enough to operate on me due to the complications I have from the other surgery.

August 5th I have my first pre-op appointment with the cardiologist. I have not received my other appointments yet.

I'm really excited to finally get this ball rolling

Good luck to you.  I'm so happy to finally be finished.  The appointments are so time consuming.  It seems like they all hit at once.  Now, it's the waiting game, with my fingers crossed - lol

Hi Debbie,
I have also visited the over 50 forum and they are great, but the PA forum is just filled with the best folks.  Welcome and good luck!

Welcome Debbis. I didn't know there was an over 50's forum. I'll check it out!

Hey there, yes there is an over 50s forum.  Lots of very nice people there.  You may want to check it out.

Hey Debbie,

You've found one of the two best support forums on OH! So welcome aboard!  My home state board has nice folks too, it is just not very active and so it was suggested by someone early on I might want to jump over here, seeing I live a mere 3 miles from the state border and I did have my surgery, like a number of people on here, in Langhorne, PA.  Not sure where you are in the state, but there are a few support groups that meet at various places, you might want to plug into them, I know Liz has a cooking support group, with lots of yummy recipes adapted for our post-surgery lifestyle. . .

Anyway, welcome and look forward to seeing you on both boards from time to time. . .  oh and congrats on jumping through your hoops, I remember all too well those days and feeling like my surgery date was never going to get here, it's been 21 months now and I love my life!

Hugs, Laureen

Laureen,

Thanks for the warm welcome!  I've seen you on OFF.  I hope you are settled into your new job by now.  In this time of economic crisis, we are all blessed to have jobs.

I'm really looking forward to having my surgery.  I'm so psyched up.  You all look so great, and hearing about how great you feel, makes it all worth it.

I'll have to check out where some of the places are in Pennsylvania.  I'm not too far from the Maryland line.  The cooking class sounds like so much fun.  I'll have to check and see where it's held and if it's not too far try and attend.

Have a great weekend.
