My dad
Lisa,
I am so sorry to hear that your dad's not doing well. Cancer absolutely sucks. I lost my dad to it 20 years ago and it was very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with your dad, you and your family. Hang in there.

Lisa,
I have been away from the boards for awhile-busy with summer and such. So sorry to hear about your father and his illness. I agree-cancer sucks. I just spent time with my dad tonight and I keep holding my breath that God keeps him healthy for many years yet. He will be 85 is Sept. He is all I have left as my mom passed soon to be 2 yrs now. I will keep your family in my prayers and offering you the strength to endure this trial.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. My dad just turned 74 and he is not an "old" 74 year old. My dad and step-mom are really all I have, too. I lost my mom in 2006 at the age of 67. She was a very old 67 year old. My sister and I are not close, so my dad and my daughter are really all I have.
I haven't talked to him tonight. I thought I would wait until tomorrow to call him and let him get something in him. Hopefully, he'll be a bit better in the morning.
