Liz's Yesterday

I am sure all of you who attended Liz's yesterday are wondering how I am feeling! Well, I was sick all day until I went to bed around 10:30 last night. I had a terrible case of the "foamies" and it was non-stop. I couldn't even take a sip of water or anything! Today, I had some flat ginger ale and have taken my zantac, but have not tried to eat anything, I am too scared. I don't know what happened, nothing felt stuck, and not to mention nothing came out when I was sick??? But, I am feeling better. I had fun yesterday and was happy to see all of you in person! Hopefully next month, I won't have any problems!!
Thanks!
Suzanne

I'm glad you are starting to feel better and it was great to meet you.  Sorry that you got sick.  I would just take it easy today, maybe stick to soft foods.  Make sure you get your liquids in and maybe some protein shakes so you don't get sick from NOT eating.

Glad that you are ok - we were concerned about you! The foamies stink! When I get sick off of food I usually try to go back to liquids for 24 hours, seems to let the pouch calm down. Also if cold things are working try warm or hot stuff, sometimes the hot things (ie tea, broth etc) help to move it a long.

It was nice to meet you and Chris! Hope that you are feeline 100% soon!

Suzanne,

So glad to hear you're feeling better... and so sorry you felt so awful.  Keep in mind that there are a few different things that can cause the foamies... of course there's the obvious (sugar, high fat), but there's also eating too fast, taking bites that are too big, or just eating a different food that didn't work for you.  Cherries are naturally high in sugar, so maybe that was a trigger being so soon after your surgery.  The toasted almonds also might have been a texture that your healing pouch wasn't quite ready for, as nuts can be difficult to chew enough to get them tiny.

Looking forward to seeing you next month!  Glad you weren't scared away!

Hi Suzanne:

Glad you're feeling better. I've had that happen and I did the same thing, took a day off from eating and just kinda let things settle back into place. When I did eat again, I had just a little FF cottage cheese and some splenda on it and it got me back to normal.

It was nice meeting you

Chanel
