OT - Greetings From Israel
Hi all - This is the first opportunity that I had to get on here - it has been non-stop!!!! I am still in Awe of this AMAZING country! I spent a day in Tel Aviv - and put my toes in the Medditeranean Sea! (I took a picture of that! Pedi looked great!) Then went to a town called Netivot which is scarily near the Gaza Strip - but there are plenty of people living there and raising their families in realtive peace at the moment. We met teachers who said they had to live in a bp\omb shelter for up to 3 weeks - Very scary stuff!
I have been in Jerusalem since Wednesday evening - I went into the Old City last night to bring in the Sabbath - I got to touch the Western Wall - I cried - it is soooo moving to see it! Today is a quiet day in Jerusalem due to the Sabbath. (Shabbat Shalom Lisa!) We are going to be headed North on Monday Morning. Tonight I am going to a great area is Jerusalem called Ben Yehuda Street - it is like South Street in Philadelphia on a Saturday night - a ton of shops - food - people - music - SOOOO looking foward to it!
As for the food issue - so far so good! I have had some pita - but hey - look where I am! Otherwise everything else is great! The people that I am travelling with could not be any more supportive if I had brought all of you! They are sweet and soooo proud of me - they met me about 4 months prior to surgery. We have been doing a TON of walking and Israel is VERY hilly. I just keep thinking about how difficult this would have been if I hadn't taken off the 60 pounds that I have so far!
Thank you all for your continued support! It means sooooo much to me - and believe me - I have been doing a TON of reflection being in this holiest of places!
Shavua Tov! (To a good week)

STEFFFFFIIIIEEEEE!!
Shabbat Shalom and Mazel Tov on your trip. I SOOO wish I could go there. Maybe one day. I have heard of Ben Yehuda St. I'm sure it was great. I think I would have cried at the wall, too. You are so lucky to have this opportunity and I know you are cherishing it.
Shavua Tov to you as well!
