PAT's Done Today!
I have been on vacation the last 2 weeks, and returned to have my PAT's at Barix this morning. What great news to see I had dropped 3 lbs. on vacation - yes, I ate very carefully, but did allow for a treat each week. (A small DQ soft serve in a cup). The testing went well and it looks like all systems are GO!
Now...we're on the road to next Wednesday, when I'll be having my RNY.
Excited...a little scared...nervous...anticipating...all at once. Any tips or thoughts are welcome! I'm already planning to pack light for the hospital stay.

CONGRATS!!!!! you are on your way to a new life!! I went through every possible emotion prior to the surgery- from complete panic, to fear, to excitement, to anxiety , to just wanting it overwith.
There were several times I actually momentarily decided to not have surgery...
However, I am 8 weeks out tomorrow (time flies!) and off Blood Pressure meds, no acid reflux and down 45 lbs so far!!
It is life changing and soooo worth it!
Best of luck :)

Hi Lynn! You must be really excited to be just a week away from your surgery!! I was feeling all the things that you mentioned, even thinking about cancelling the morning of my surgery. But I stuck with it and am now just about 3 weeks out. And I'm already seeing amazing changes! My beau keeps telling me that he can see the changes in me, and my clothes are getting too big.
You're wise to pack light for the hospital. I took a book and some magazines and found I couldn't concentrate on any of it. Take something that you'll be comfortable walking in, like pajama pants or something loose. The nurses at Barix want the patients to wear sneakers to do their laps---I think they've found they give more support than slippers. Be prepared to walk and walk and then walk some more! lol They even get you up at night to walk, but you feel better when you walk.
I'm a Dr P patient too, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Good luck!!!
Julia
