Diabetisweet

Thanks to this board I found Diabetisweet!!! I made decaf ice tea for our 4th of July picnic and it was a huge hit.  It was so good my husband asked for some more today.  This stuff is wonderful! Any other uses for it? Can you use it in any recipe that calls for sugar? and lastly can you buy it anywhere local? I ordered mine online. 

I'm going to leave this one to the expert--- Liz--- to answer.  You can use it for baking.  She has recipes for brownies, cookies, you name it.

Oh and I found it at Giant in the diabetic section by the pharmacy... or as I was told, in between the condoms and the pregnancy tests. LOL!

it's wonderful stuff, isn't it!  Liz and company turned me on to it... apparently you can do anything with it that you can do with sugar. 

I've used it to caramelize onions and cherries with balsamic vinegar  (it's a sauce I make for tilapia) and it acts and tastes just like sugar.

Liz made barbecue sauce with it, and a bunch of people at the cooking class (get there if you can - it's REALLY fun)  made some really good baked stuff (angel food cake, pound cake, etc.).

There's also a brown-sugar version which I've not found in stores here.  I've ordered it online from  netrition.com, but just put out an SOS to the board (about 2 minutes before you posted) asking if anyone knows where you can get it around here.

It works JUST like sugar! You can use it in anything from candy to cake to cookies to beverages!

I only get it from netrition.com and I have an e-mail into them to see if they'll sell it at a quantity discount. I am also going to see if I can get Wegman's to carry it.

I ordered mine through Drugstore.com.  I got the brown sugar too since my hubby and I make our own BBQ sauce.  I wish I could attend a cooking class but getting a sitter on Saturday will never happen. 

you can buy the white one at Target in the pahrmacy dept near the diabetic supplies and also @ Giant in the pharmacy near the diabetic supplies, brown sugar I think u can only get it online

when I use it for baking I use 1/2 diabetasweet & 1/2 splenda cause I can taste the aftertaste in the diabetasweet

Target in Warminster no longer has it... which Target do you go to that still carries it?  Also haven't found it at Giant in plumstead or new hope...

Target in Wyomissing carries it... and the Giant in Royersford also carries it... I'm hoping the new Giant they are building in Exerter Township/Reading will carry it...
