*************JULY 4TH ROLL CALL*************
Hey - this is my first time posting a roll call! This is very exciting for me!!!!! I was about to go to bed when I saw the time and thought....hmmmm.....let's see if anyone else is up this late....and lo and behold, no post - so here goes:
Spending the morning packing - yup - still haven't gone on the trip to Israel that I seem to have been talking about for months now....Two more days and I am off! I bet you all will be happy to finally not hear me talk about the packing that I still have not yet finished! :)
In the afternoon I am heading to a cousin's for our annual pool party in which my mom was always the life of the party - this is our second July 4th without her, and it still sucks! But it is always wonderful to be around family that loved her soooo much and tell me how much I remind them of her! Becuase there are soooo many people that come to this party and they ALL seem to bring desserts, we always do a dessert parade while singing, "You're a Grand Ole Flag" It is quite entertaining - however, since my mom died, I was asked to lead the parade as she was always the leader - hmmmm....wonder where I got all my craziness from! :) Anyway - I am a bit nervous about leading the parade of desserts - I guess I can just start out the parade with fruit! In any event, It is always a good time and I am looking forward to seeing many people for the first time since my surgery.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Independence Day!

4th of July has me heading to my meeting, and then to the hospital for work. I have had three days off since we got out of school. I love my summer work.
I hope to also get my computer connected to my printer sometime. I have some stuff I need to print, and this is getting me tired just trying to fix this thing.

Good morning all,
Not alot planned today. I will be taking a young man somewhere this morning and need to have a heart to heart talk with him. Seems he has attached himself to my hubby and being the softy and big hearted soul he is, this young man is taking advantage of it. It's not the first time.
Knitting club today. I may go just to get some time to myself.

Today has me going to the supermarket and doing the grocery shopping early!! Then home where we will walk over to the park and see what all the festivities are over there--lots planned there: car show, music, food it sounds like fun. Then we will head home and grill hamburgers and hot dogs and wait around till the fireworks tonight!!!
That is the extent of my plans for the holiday!!! LOL Hope everyone enjoys the day and has a great 4th of July!!!

Well, thanks to your post I now have "Grand Ol' Flag" running through my head. Of course I only know about 3 lines of it...so here I sit, humming the same few lines over and over again! LOL
It's so nice you get to start off your dessert parade! And there are lots of recipies here that are sf desserts, so although fruit is a FANTABULOUS idea, next year you can always bring something sf and no one will probably know the difference!
Anywho...I'm enjoying some quiet time now. Hubby is still asleep and the cats are just lounging. Of course, last night they decided it was "play" time and they were so loud and rambuncious (sp?) with each other they actually woke me up. grrrrrr
After that I'll be packing the few things up, and hubby and I are headed to Shauna's house for a fabulous time with friends outside, by her pool! I can't wait!!!!
I actually bought a two piece bathing suit....but I remind myself of that oldies song...
"She was afraid to come out of the locker...she was as nervous as she could be...she was afraid to come out of the locker...she was afraid that somebody would see...she wore an itsy bitsy teenie weeni yellow polka dot bikini"
Now it's not an itsy bitsy nor is it yellow with polka dots. But the fact remains that I have skin and no where NEAR a perfect body...I bought it because in all honesty the other ones out this season made me either look pregnant, or didn't go down low enough to cover my upper thighs that look like charpee legs. This one covered my thighs (it has a skirt like bottom)....I just don't know....I have two others...we'll see how brave I am.
So, that's it for me! LIke I said...I'm sooooo excited!!!

I started the day off in a fun way---removing a tick from my beau's leg. Ugh! Little bugger was hanging on for all it was worth! I won the battle!!
Another day on the beach today. But we have to head home very early tomorrow, around 7am, so we'll be doing laundry and packing today too. Our dryer works intermittently, so laundry may be an adventure. Tonight we'll walk down to the beach to watch the fireworks.
