I AM THE STEREOTYPICAL YO-YO
Truly, I am... When my daughter got towards the end of her pregnancy, and was soooo miserable.. and life got very stressfull once again... I gained "again" grr... so now, for the last two days, I have been back to basics...and doing ok. actually, I think I'm not getting in enough calories. I know that many post ops state that they get 800-1100 daily, but at 4 years out, that is not reasonable for me. My body actually stops losing if I take in less than 1500-1800.... and right now, I'm only getting about 1100... the good thing is that most of my calories at this time are protein.. YEAH> lol
I am still going to Curves, which helped me maintain some of the inches I had lost.. not all, but some, which is good.
The good news is that my grandson, Devon James, was born 3/21/09 with only 3 hours of real labor!!! He's a big boy, born at 8 lbs 5 oz, he's now 6 weeks old and over 12 lbs!! He's soooo cute. Daughter went back to work today, so maybe we can get back into a routine! That will help me greatly!
Getting into a healthy routine after 18 months of my old habits has been a challenge. I am determined to win this battle though.
Keep working one day at a time to get victory over these habits.

You and I are both about the same time post-op.. I'll be 4 years in September and I feel your pain TOTALLY! I have been working with a nutritionist since about March who has completely revamped my diet. When I learned that I had put on 25lbs I was devestated and immediately cut back on my calories, which I thought was the right thing to do... Turns out it was the opposite of what I needed. At 4 years post-op we don't operate the same as a new post-op or even someone who's a year or two out... I am now on about 1800-1900 calories a day and my protein intake has more then doubled thanks to my nutritionist... and I've lost 12lbs! In my opinion when you have this surgery you almost forget to realize that the basics of proper nutrition still apply. If you don't fuel your body, it won't work! Since I work out so much my nutritionist takes my body fat measurements as well and last time I saw her she said that my body needs at least 2130 calories to MAINTAIN it's weight. I'm eating 7 meals a day and to boot she plans my meals around the foods I enjoy so it's not a big hassle or cumbersome to eat what and when I need to.
It's not right for everyone but she was really my key to realizing that while I still have my "tool" it doesn't work the same way it does for newer post-ops. A lot of insurance companies have coverage for nutritional couseling... just something you might want to look into :)
Back on track... and enjoying the ride
