WOWS!!! for me!
So, tonight after Siehara's appointment we decided to go visit our friends who just had their baby on June 17. They were going to walk to the mailbox, which is about 4 blocks away and then go to the park that is oh so conveniently located right on the other side of their back yard, separated only by their fence.
We're walking to the mailbox and Ethan, the 2 year old, decides that he no longer wants to walk, he wants to RUN to the mailbox. I looked at him, then looked at his mom and said.. you know, I bet I can run after him and keep up now! Well, I did. The 2 of us ran for 2 blocks up to the mailbox. I kept up with him and I was not out of breath at all when we got to the corner!!!!!
When we got close to the park, I challenged him to a race to see who could get to his dad and 6 year old brother faster. Of course, I gave him a huge head start and ran slowly (he is only 2) but I ran with him!
If that wasn't enough, Siehara and Daniel (the 6 yr old) were on the swings. There is one soft flexible swing on the swing set and I have tried to sit on that one before and was sort of able to swing. Siehara was on that one. It's her favorite. SO, I went over to one of the other swings which had a hard seat and chains holding it to the set. I FIT and HAD ROOM between my legs and the chains. No pinching, no sore butt. I was swinging on a swing set just like the kids!! It was so much fun!! I told the kids' mom and dad (Sarah and David) and they were so happy for me, too!!
Now that I think about David, he actually said something kind of funny and WOW tonight about me too! I had on a shirt that said "whale watch" on it. And he looked at it and said "not anymore". I didn't even know what he was talking about until I looked down and saw what shirt I was wearing.
It's small stuff like that that makes it ALL worth it!

Totally cool Lisa, TOTALLY cool! I'm not so sure I like the whole "not any more " whale watch comment but then again - it's a kid - and out of the mouths of kids are some of the best (and worst) compliments!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. 
Running!!?? Check you out! That's fantastic!! And swinging - that sounds like a blast, too - isn't it wonderful knowing you can do these kinds of things again?? I know I feel like a little kid when I ride my bike now - and there's nothing 'small' about your wows - they're all big and wonderful so celebrate them!!
