When can you experience dumping?

I was wondering when can you experience dumping? Can you experience it on liquids? I know some can if they drink milk but I was curious of other things? Or does dumping happen when you start to eat food?

dumping can happen with liquids and food, usually high sugar and or fat does it.

I had my first episode when I tried pure orange juice.  Too much sugar.

It happens to me within minutes of eating the wrong things.  The feelings is just pure devastation of my digestive system and wanting to just curl up and die for a few hours till it passes.

Don't test your limits.

If you have a liquid or food you are not supposed to, you will dump.  You are made to mal-absorb now, regardless of how early out you are.  It's not fun to dump.  It's horrible, actually.  Don't try it.  lol.

I was  not going to try it I just wanted to know what happens and how you know you are. Well last night I was in serious pain but I think it was because I had to take some laxitives to clean me out because I had not gone to the bathroom (BM) in 7 days. And OMG...No one told me it was going to hurt and last for 2 hours...uuggghh..But let me tell you I feel like I lost 10 pounds overnight LOL. I pray that I do not ever have to take anymore laxitives to go again...it freakin hurts!!

I dumped 2 weeks out on liquid Tylenol with PowerBoost - unfortunately for me I did not read the label and the 'PowerBoost' was nothing but sugar - and it was the most horrible feeling in the world. Chills, sweats, shakes, nauseau, dizziness - trust me it is not something you ever want to experience, but most likely will in your journey somewhere along the way.

Only good thing about that entire episode is that I now KNOW I dump on sugar so I only eat things with 2 grams of sugar per serving or less - its just not worth it.

I've dumped on things I knew I shouldn't have eaten.... and I've dumped on things that I never would have expected to dump on... That's the thing about dumping, it can happen anytime... anywhere :)  You just have to be vigilant and listen to your body and keep a mental log of the things that you can and can't handle.

I'm almost 4 years out and yes... I still dump... very rarely but it sure does happen and it's a good way to remind myself that my tool is still intact and doing it's job.
