MOM UPDATE

The timing is quite usual. I work in a rehab facility and have worked in them for 13 years. Speaking from direct experience this is often the timing after hip fracture with surgical repair. It is also important to note that hospital stays have decreased over the years. Most rehab facilities can handle oxygen needs as well.

My biggest suggestion is mentioned above. Be an advocate and ask lots of questions. :)
