Thank you ALL!  These sound awesome and easy - and they can be family friendly, which is something I'm looking for.

Yay!

I did a turkey breast in the crockpot the other week - stuffed a nice big onion into its cavity and hit it with a little spray butter and salt and better, added some water and it cooked all day - when I tell you this thing literally fell off the bones as I was pulling it out it was almost hard to get out but was so moist and juicy I didn't have any problems with it. We had it with veggies and stuff that night (and some potatoes that were in the crockpot as well). After that we made turkey salad and turkey soup, and because of the seasoning with the onion and all it was all yummy and went a long, long way.

Liz, you had posted a 50 Plus Cooking Crockpot website a while back and I have it bookmarked and have used a ton of those recipes, especially when my mom was in Florida and I was relegated to all the cooking - I will always appreciate that website because it made life so much easier - and we love the crockpot in the summer because our kitchen isn't very big and tends to get hot if we cook a lot, so the crockpot is the perfect answer.

I hope the link works - sometimes I have a hard time with that, but I think if you type this into your browser it should come up. I like that she marks the ones that are lower in fat, sodium, etc.

OMG...those short ribs sound so fabulous!

I also refer back to the website you posted awhile ago.  I just love, love, love, the stuffed cabbage recipe.  I make it all the time.

I also did a turkey breast a month or two ago...so tender and moist.  We make turkey salad out of the leftovers.  So healthy and lots of good protein.

I do something similar with chicken and crushed tomatoes.  I include mushrooms and some red peppers and serve it over dreamfields pasta.  So, so yummy.

Nothing better or easier than a good crockpot meal.
