What kind of bread do you eat?

O****ep dipping in the 140's and that is too low for me so I finally am starting to eat more carbs. I got flat out wraps and only eat half of it. I also eat a half of piece of muti-grain toast. Bread is not my trigger food so it's no problem for me to eat. I'm just curious on what kind of bread, if any, you guys eat. Also, people that have reached goal, how many carbs do you eat or do you not keep track of that. I have to find my Barix bible. I have my one year post op appt with Dr. Boe in Aug so I'm going to ask the nut about carbs.

Thanks,

The arnold bakery thins are great. They are about hamburger roll sized around but really flat - thinner then an english muffin - they are whole grain and darn tasty for something like a sandwich, or a mini pizza.

1 year - WOW! The nuts I am sure will have great advice.

Thanks Liz. I'm going to have to try that. I know eggface makes pizza out of the flat out bread so that was a good choice. I'll have to get some of the thin bread. I guess you don't have any issues with bread. It can't make you dump, right?

bread is my best friend! lol Some people can't tolerate bread - I wish I was one of them. For some people it just sits like a lump in their pouches, I personally have no problems with it - just don't drink too soon after eating it or it can swell in your pouch and make it uncomfortable.

Some breads do have sugar in them, just make sure to read your labels as always.

no bread for me... at least not yet. Hopefully not ever. I am too soon out to even think about it.  Actually, I haven't wanted any for the most part, so hopefully it will stay that way.

I didn't touch anything like this until I was under my goal. I go check the sugars out on the bread I have so I think I'm good. I do like the flat out wraps. I don't drink for an hour after I eat bread. I was afraid of it swelling up too. I guess I'm doing it right then...lol. I didn't think I would EVER have the problem of being under goal. My bones are sticking out too much and I don't like that....I never thought I would EVER say that...lol.

I don't do regular bread or rolls (yesterday was an exception for a roll w/italian sausage) but 99% of the time I stay away from bread because it swells in my pouch.

Liz hit it tho - the Arnold bakery rounds are awesome and come in many different varieties - that's all I buy for the house anymore and my husband and mother were huge bread eaters, but even they have converted to the bakery rounds - they're great for burgers, too.

I agree about the whole wheat sandwich rounds ... very tasty and low in carbs and sugar.  I've had half of one every couple of weeks, toasted, with a slice of FF cheese on it.  Yum!  They freeze very well, btw.

The other thing i've really liked is "Bran For Life" bread (I found it in the Organic Freezer section - comes frozen).  Very nutritionally balanced and delicious.  I just thaw a slice at a time as I need it.

I'm still trying to figure out a good balance for carbs for me.  I know that refined carbs are a definite trigger food for me, so I'm staying away from white breads, crackers, etc. and only having very occasional whole grain breads.

Hope this helps!

I am a lucky one and have no problems with bread. I LOVE my Arnold's Grains & More Double Protein Bread

I have it about 1-2 X p/week with some Simply Jif peanut butter and s/f strawberry jelly and it's like eating a cake!

I wish I was able to drive then I would go get myself soon. I could eat a turkey burger on it. I would send my husband out for him but knowing him he will come back with the wrong thing...lol. He doesn't follow directions that well.

Mel- I had some SF jelly for the first time yesterday and it was good. I'm going to try pb/jelly on toast...OMG that sounds so good. I love it when the PB melts. I'm so surprised I lost weight being home...I thought I would gain...I eat more and no only when i am hungry. I have to work on that.

Thanks for the info!
