Breathing exercises...how long do we do them for?
I was wondering how long we have to use these breathing tools for? I just looked at my paper and all it says is to continue to do it four times a day but does not say for how long. Now if I remember correctly I think the nurse told me two weeks..but I wanna check with anyone else that might know and remember? Weirdest thing is I keep forgetting things since surgery...I do not know why..but thank god I am writing down when I eat and stuff and what i drink because I would not remember if I didn't.
I remember them asking me at my 2-week appt whether I was still doing them and I was thankfully able to say "yes" :-). I don't recall after that whether I had to continue, though... sorry!
The forgetting things is because one of the anesthesia drugs is an amesia drug... induces short-term memory loss. That will go away within another week or so. (I know that 'cause my daughter just studied the issue in college - yay! - something good's already coming out of that whopping tuition bill!)

While we don't have to do the actual breathing exercises they give us after the appointed time, it is a great coping skill for relaxation exercises for dealing with those wonderful feeings that come up now and then, especially when the temptation to test the limit****s.
Just a suggestion.
