I was wondering that too... But, I find that if I order an app. instead of a big meal it helps my eatting to much...I also ask for a "too go" box if I am ordering a reg. meal...I usually eat it the next day or my DH takes it for  his lunch...I have even taking along my own container if I am going some where that I know the protions will be really large..."Lucky"

I don't know anything about getting the card. I never had one or used one. Just try to keep in mind that most of the kids meals are not WLS friendly as they are usually chicken fingers, mac and cheese, hot dogs....etc.

Just my .02, but I always just ordered a regular dinner so I could pick something healthier. I only ate pat of it, but......always had a great lunch or dinner the next day using the left overs. My adult meal is now 2-3 meals for me now. So it is worth it if you look at it that way.....to go ahead a buy a regular meal.

Good luck to you, and hopefully someone knows about the card.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

To be perfectly honest with you you're better off ordering from the regular menu and asking for the To Go bag up front, or see if they have a 55+ menu and order from that. Most of the foods on the kids menus are NOT WLS friendly - think hot dogs, french fries, mac & cheese, pizza?

I went into a Bob Evans not long after I went back on regular foods and asked if I could order from the senior menu because I had WLS and the waitress said absolutely - you can get the good meals on there but at about half the serving size (and cost).

The card from my Dr. states that I should be allowed to order off the Senior or Kids menu. I have never used it but have ordered off the Senior menu before.

Generally though I just order a normal meal that will reheat well and get it to go. We ordered take-away the other night and there was literally 3 meals for me out of that one meal. It was crazy. I'm still continually amazed at how much food is given to people to eat. This was chicken parmesan and there were three breasts in there! They weren't as thick as normal breasts so my guess is they took a mutant chicken boob and sliced it horizontally into 3 pieces but that was two meals for me and one for my boyfriend. Crazy!

I have a card but mostly order from the senior menu's. Senior menu's usaully have fish and the one place we go to will bake it in lemon minus the butter.

I know my surgeon gave me a card.  I've never had to take it out to PROVE anything.  I just simply explain to the waiter/waitress about my surgery and they gladly help me.

I've even ordered smaller portions of the regular menu at a reduced price.

I never had the card nor was i encouraged to use it as childrens menus are usually not good options for us. Jason and I would share an entrees or I would get a good appetitzer.

I got my card today when I was released from the hospital.  However, the nurse that was discharging me said that it was a good idea to order a regular meal and ask for only 1/3 of the meal on the plate and the rest pre-boxed.  That was you didn't have to look at the full plate and feel like you had to try and eat more than you should.
