What a crappy day... need advice/ideas
Today started off kind of funny with a phone call from my bro-in-law on our way to work... Trevor works for the same company as me and so we drive the same way once on 422... he ran out of gas hehehee... so Jeremy and I pick him up and we drop Jeremy off at work and then head to work ourselves and we will go back for his car at lunch time...
Well around 10am... I'm worried... why because I haven't felt squirmy moving... and then I realize that I haven't felt anything alllll morning... so I dash for the kitchen and get my protein pudding which normally gets her really really going... nothing... I waited a half an hour... still nothing... ok very worried now... call the OB and they tell me to get in... show up there a few mins later (because they 2 exits from where I work) and I have to drive past where Trevor has his car... ok still there... all is good... get to the OB and hook me up to a NST machine... took them 15 mins to find the heart beat but finally did... and then strapped me up to it... omg did that ever **** her off... she attacked the 2 monitor thingies... soooo angry... she does not like having her space invaded... ugh why do I feel we have another strong willed kid lol... so after that off I went back to work... on the way back... no car... Trevor's car is gone... not there at all... crap... I am really hoping that it is because I'm having a preggo moment...
well 30 mins later at lunch time we drive to his car... and I was right... not there... so Trevor is calling Jeremy because my stupid cell phone is dead... and Jeremy is looking up online what to do... omg the stupid state cops had it towed... he wasn't even away from the car for 3 hours because we took an early lunch... well after 35 mins on the phone Trevor found his car... and after a trip to wal-mart to get a gas can and gas and $220 later... he had his car...
The rest of the day at work sucked because I had someone else answering the phone (my job) trying to get the people upset at service... they only got one in 3 hours... sooo boring... so I couldn't use my phone, puter or do anything else... and so finally when that ended I got pulled into a meeting... and this is where i need some help... they were letting me work from home at night to bank the time as comp time to use for maturity leave since they are too small to have paid leave... well now they aren't sure if they are going to have the money to do that... crap! I need the money... so... anyone have any ideas for this...
Also... if anyone uses bottled water at work let me know... I get $25 bucks for each referral/unit put into place... and I could put that money towards my Mat. Leave... if you want more info about my company I will PM you the link to their website... they don't use homes... just work places... but I think they do home offices like people that run small businesses out of their homes...
Thanks for letting me vent etc... and i'm not going to post this on the pregnancy boards... tired of crazy people and their attacks... you all sweet and normal in my eyes hehehe...
Baby is ok! Everything else is gravy, right?
I don't mean to imnimize the other issues of the day. but when crap like this gets me down, I focus on the GOOD, and the bad doesn't seem quite so bad.
Sorry I don't have any practical advice but I hope my "unicorns and rainbows" BS musings help keep you focused on the good stuff, and not dwelling on the bad.
I am so sorry all this happened to you in one day! Yikes!! But Squirmy is ok and that is all that really matters!!! BIG ((HUGS))--hope you have a better day !!!!!!

It is hard when you have to be off with your little one but cash is an issue. I SERIOUSLY think that paid maternity leave should be mandatory. For God's sake, you bring a human being into the world, wreak havoc on your body, and have to care for a newborn and it's "optional" for employers to have it.
I could go on and on about people on long term disability and the "reason" the are on it. (not all people, don't flame me!) And all mom's need are 6-8 weeks to get by. Ugh, anyways, other than selling your crap, I don't know what to tell you. That's what we did.
