Monday Excercise
That little dog is going to lift your spirits and boost your exercise more than you can imagine! I know if I've had a lousy day all I have to do is walk in the door and mine is always happy to see me, no matter what, and it makes me smile and forget the bad stuff for a while. And yesterday when it finally got nice out I felt tired of being cooped up inside doing housework but the roads were too wet to ride my bike so I thought 'a walk!' - called the dog and he came running and off we went for a very long walk. Now if I had asked my husband the same thing he would have said 'I'm watching the Phillies game (why?) or 'I'm recording something' - I don't get those answers from Jude - I get a happy face, a wagging tail and he runs to his leash and is ready to go at a moment's notice.
Enjoy your new friend - they bring so much joy to our lives.

This morning I ventured out (after oversleeping just a little bit) to the hotel's fitness center, with some trepidation. Well, I had FUN! It's a gorgeous center, there were a bunch of people there (including quite a few who were considerably less buff than I am) and a great atmosphere.
I've always been a little fearful of motorized treadmills, but decided that I had really needed the cardio today and didn't want to try and learn one of the other machines yet, so I hopped on. Well, THAT was addictive! I ended up doing a little over 2 miles in half an hour (pace averaged a little over 4 mph, not including warmup and cooldown)... that's longer than I normally do at home on the path. I didn't quite figure out how to get it to change smoothly to and from a jogging pace but was eyeing what others were doing and I think i'll figure that out tomorrow.
I followed that up with some upper body weight work before runnnig out of time and needing to get going so I wouldn't be late to the conference. Tomorrow, I'll get up earlier!
Woo hoo! Another fear conquered... or at least tucked back into the closet where it belongs!

Haha yeah - I was "bookin!" But it was fun and I can really see how Shauna describes an exercise "high." Felt awesome! And am looking forward to tomorrow morning - I'm trying to get Katie to get up and go with me in the morning, but she's really enjoying sleeping in in the nice comfy hotel beds!

I was not a fan of spinning either. I give big props to those who love spinning. You wil find your favorite!

I had an appointment last Friday. It is gorgeous! The gym room was my favorite - lots of "toys" to play with in there.
