Greek Yogurt
I add many different things depending on what I am looking for taste wise.
I add protein powder to flavor/sweeten it.
S/F pudding mix (straight from package, no milk added)
S/F jelly and fruit
Mix with salsa as a dip
To acquire the taste for it you could also start it as a mix. Of ricotta (if you like ricotta!) and the yogurt. Add flavorings, etc. and then start substituting, or not, stick with 1/2 and 1/2 if that works for you.

The Greek brands have a higher protein count then "regular" yogurt that's why most of us try it. It can be an easy way to pack a protein punch. If for some reason you really don't like it pre-surgery definitely buy a small amount (at different time intervals too) post-op because as you said, your tastes will change.

I eat it almost every day. I make a bunch up ahead of time
1 6 ounce container (I use chobani, not a big fan of the fage)
2-3 packets splenda
1/4 cup frozen mixed berries (I generally use a combo of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and pitted black cherries)
Combine into individual containers and put in fridge. By the time I'm ready to eat them, the berries are all thawed. I mix it up and yum o!
I also buy the sf davinci syrups. My favorite is coconut, lime, or lemon. Mix that in and eat as is, or add fruit just to get in a serving of fruit.
The jellow powder is pretty good, too
If you mix it with onion soup mix, you need to use one large container (about 16 ounces worth) with one packet of onion soup mix. I wouldn't eat it plain - use it for dipping veggies in it. I have brought it to work this way many many times and no one knows that it's not "real" onion dip.
I've added it to shakes with milk and berries or some other combo, plus splenda to taste
I also use the 2% one
ALL of the flavored ones have sugar listed in the top 3 ingredients I believe and the sugar content is ridiculously high because of it. I won't use the flavored ones due to that fact.
I've also used splenda, a scant 1/4 teaspoon of coconut extract, and crushed pineapple in it's own juice for a pina colada type taste. I've also done it this way with the pineapple and organic coconut and splenda and made a pina colada dipping sauce for a fruit platter. Served that at a party I threw and again, no one new the difference.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I do like the Greek yogurt. I get the Chobani brand which is fat free and comes in strawberry/blueberry or peach and vanilla. But greek yogurt is a thicker yogurt and not everyone will like that, but very high in protein. So even without anything else for the day, one yogurt and an Isopure and I'm good for all the protein for the day, so adding chicken or tuna brings me up to about 80-90 grams.
I used to date a person from Lebanon who made his own yogurt from sour cream and they ate it with pita bread and black olives. So I've like this type of yogurt for years.
Good luck
