Suggestions for soups?

I'm on full liquids now and can have soups that are blended and strained.  Anyone have any suggestions as to what kinds I can have?  Brands and flavors would be helpful.  I have some microwavable cups of Progresso Lentil soup, but it has tomato paste in it---should I avoid that?

I'd love any info you can pass along regarding full liquids!!!

Thanks!

I tried to keep to the low sodium soups but went for good brands and would strain the noodles/veggies off to drink the broth - it had much more flavor than just plain old broth. I didn't have much luck with cream based soups, tho - they didn't sit too well in my pouch after surgery. Definitely watch the tomato based soups - some of them have a lot of sugar.

I bought ones with chicken and/or beef in them, and if they contained noodles I would take them out and puree what was left.

The campbells select or whatever they are called - the portabello is AWESOME, and doesn't need to be blended to much.  However, almost nill on the protein level....

Healthy Choice Tomato Soup is good as is Campbells Healthy Request.I didn't dump on that and I enjoyed it. Cream of Broccoli too. I steal some broth from Won Ton Soup when my family goes for chinese and I also make my own. I made ministrone for my family last light and really enjoyed the broth with a few mashed up potatoes. I didn't enjoy the Cream of Chicken. I'll have to try the NE Clam Chowder and just give my hubby the chunks.

Julia,

I really liked the healthy choice cream of chicken soup with greek yogurt added... made it SO creamy and luxurious!

I also really love Wegman's Italian Wedding Soup... removed the meatballs and pureed the rest before straining it.  Gave a really wonderful taste, decent protein, and low fat.   Also Wegman's cream of broccoli and white cheddar... again with added greek yogurt.

I also found a really good french onion soup - i think progresso?  or healthy choice? strained it and it was really tasty.

The final one I loved was egg drop soup (basically chicken with egg dropped into it, adding protein AND taste).  I didn't have a problem with leaving the egg in there because it was so "thin" that it was basically liquid.  If you're doing it yourself, you can use egg beaters instead of full eggs just to decrease the fat content a little bit.

In the early days, btw, I actually found it a little hard to get the FAT content high enough.  Apparently the fat being too low was contributing a bit to my problems with constipation... just a note that might help a bit.

Anyway - hope this helps!
