New to the board & getting back on track!

Hello everyone!

I live in Central PA and I'm new to this board.  I had the Realize gastric band placed Aug. 1, 2008 at Hershey Medical Center by Dr. Timothy Shope.  Everything went great! I was doing wonderful until November.  I had several personal tragedies and lost my way in regard to diet, exercise and eating.  I am finally at a place in my life where I can devote more time to me and my band and get back on track!

My goal is to go back to my 1 year appointment and be on  the losing side of the scale.  I would love to be 200 lbs.  That would be a major accomplishment for me.  I'm currently 218 lbs.

Thanks for reading!  I hope to make some friends and learn some new ways to work my band!

Welcome Amy!! Life happens and can cause all sorts of issues along the way, but the important thing is you know you have the tool and you know how to use it - now its just a matter of working it all together and having a happier, healthier lifestyle and life! Good for for joining us - great place for lots of support.

Hi Amy,

Welcome to the PA support forum, where you will get lots of encouragement from people who are living this journey side by side, knowing that each day is a day to experience life in ways we used to just dream about and now can achieve.  So I wish you much "successing" as you recommit yourself to this journey.

Best wishes, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Hi Amy -

I too had RNY January of 2005.  Started out at 247 went down to 150; then at 2 years out went thru some emotional stuff and got off track and now I am 194.  UGH!!!

If you'd like someone to get back on track with and be a back on board buddy..I'm your gal.  I live in Halifax which is about half-an-hour north of Harrisburg and I am going to do the 5 day pouch test starting Monday and get back to the exercise thing.  I have a pool so it should not be that difficult---if the weather cooperates until I get back in the groove.....if you know what I mean!

Just let me know if you'd like to keep each other company on our road back to the basics.  Hope to hear from you soon.
