Okay I did my Elliptical this morning for a grueling hour and as of this morning those size 4 jeans Pam gave me are sliding off me. I am going to try the size 2's. BUT it's weird that I have not seen any recent weight loss. Don't get me wrong as I am at goal and DO not want to lose any more weight. Norm could I be building muscle and losing just inches. I hope so. So what is everybody else doing to get moving today??

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Hoping to get time in on my recumbant bike tonight between dinner and taking mom to get her hair done, or maybe after - we'll see. Should have gotten up and done it this morning...if I don't get it done tonight then I'll definitely get up early tomorrow and do it before work. Don't like missing too many days now that I'm back in the groove.

Karen,

How are you enjoying EA Sports Active? I'm a newbie to the Wii and have only used Wii Fit but am enjoying it. I'd like something a bit more structured though I've found Wii Fit Routine a great resource for planning routines out.

I'm also curious if the program shuffles after the 30 day challenge is over or if you end up doing the same challenge again if you repeat it.

I LOVE IT!!!

It's so much better than what's built in to Wii fit that it's not even funny!  (and i like a lot of what's built in).  With the addition of resistance band and the nunchuk, you get so much more feedback on movement and how well you're doing - you're in control!  And the workout can be pretty intense (You select from easy, medium and intense intensity, so you can kinda control that).

There are about a hundred and fifty (at least) exercise "blocks" that get assembled in a variety of ways to put together a workout.  You can create workouts that you like (custom), select from pre-assembled (they have about 30 or so) ones, or run the 30-day challenge, which I understand you can tell it to extend to a 60-day if you choose (at the end of the challenge).

WIth the 30-day challenge, I haven't had a single day that's repeated.  Each day builds logically in sequence, number of reps, pace (to some extent), and workout intensity... one day is lower body, next day upper body (focus - each day has some of each, plus cardio, plus warmup and cooldown).  You can change intensity each day as you start the sequence, and you can also adjust which exercises are include before you start the sequence if you want to deviate from the plan. You can also choose each day whether to use the Wii balance board for some exercises.

All in all, I have found that my strength, stamina, and flexibility have changed noticeably since I've been using it.  With the resistance band (which you adjust to whatever tension you need on that day and for that exercise), I've actually noticed MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT in my arms (gasp - something I've never had before!!!).

AND... the workouts are quick, intense, move along at a good pace so I don't get bored, and are FUN.  I actually look forward to it every morning!

An enthusiastic two thumbs up from me!

Karen

Thanks. I may have to get it. I probably won't get it until August though. I like the reviews I've been seeing!

I did my EA Active workout this morning... had skipped yesterday morning and felt blah all day.  Still feeling blah today but much more energy after the workout.

Tonight's another run at the pantry reorganization, which is its own workout, schlepping cans and bottles from one room to another and getting them up on shelves... I can see a whole new weight-training regimen based on it!

Enjoy your day!
