A WOW and a find

I'm down to one pair of jeans that fit.  They look good, but they also have decoration on them that makes it pretty obvious that they're the same ones I wore yesterday and every day for the past 2 weeks.  haha.

So tonight I was down in Warrington to do a little food shopping and decided to stop at Lane Bryant to see if I could find something on clearance.  The parking space I found was up near Chico's, though... and I always admire the things I see some of my coworkers wearing from there.  Just for giggles, I thought I'd run in and see how close I was to getting into their sizes.

Lo and behold... not only did i find the CUTEST pair of capri jeans, they fit EASILY (didn't have to lay on the floor, hold my breath or anything, and I can MOVE in them),  AND THEY WERE ON SALE.  I was in heaven.  "Real people clothes" (as I've always called them to myself)!!!  Could not believe it.  Almost started crying in the fitting room.

Found a couple of nice shirts, too, but too pricey for me at the moment.  Walked down to Lane Bryant and found a couple of shirts on the deeply discounted rack... in a size 14/16!!  (I was a size 20/22 in April!)

So that's my "wow" moment for the day.

Now onto my "FIND" of the day.

I was at Trader Joe's and found Edamame Hummus.  I love regular chickpea hummus, but the edamame hummus is really, really good!  Katie turned me on to the new Arnold's "sandwich thins" (whole wheat, little thin round rolls - tasty and "friendly").  Toasted up half of one of those and had 2 tbsp of the hummus tonight and it was really YUMMY!
Sand. thin (1/2):  50 cal, .5g fat, 2.5g protein
Hummus (2tbsp): 90 cal, 8g fat, 2g protein

Enjoy!

You go Karen!  It is so awesome to be able to shop in the regular stores.  If you are wearing a 14/16 at Lane Bryant now, then don't go back in there.  You are no longer fitting into their clothes.   Step away from the big girls stores and move on to the rest of the mall!! YOU ARE NOW FREE!!!!

Enjoy every second of it. You are doing fantastic!!!

Edamame hummus sounds yummy!

Thank you so much for the words of reassurance!  I'm just still not quite feeling confident enough to go into the "regular" stores and try things on...I don't want to sabotage my thinking by going there too soon and finding that "nothing fits", which can get me thinking negative thoughts too easily.   It's coming, but I'm not QUITE ready to divorce LB... although I can definitely see it coming soon!

What an exciting step to be "on the precipice" for!

You gotta make that jump, Karen!  Even "regular" stores have sizes 16, 18, 20...so if things don't fit quite right in lets say a 14/16 from the regular stores...you no longer need Lane Bryant!!  They are mostly over priced anyway!

Congrats on the WOW and the FIND!!  Whoo hoo hoo!!

You are really working the tool to the BEST of your ability and with everything you've been through and things that still need to be done, that is QUITE the accomplishment in and of itself!!

Yay!!!

That is awesome!!! It is such a great feeling to know you don't have to wear  "specialty" clothes anymore isn't it!!!

You are doing an amazing job!!!  Good for you !!  Thanks for posting the recipe--I have never tried Edamame but I just might have to now!!

Enjoy your wow moment and all the wows to come!!

Thank you all so much for your continued support... it's making this journey so much easier!

Laura - edamame is SOOOO good.... in all its forms!  You gotta try them, they're addictive!

Liz - Didn't know that the Nova thrift store even HAD clothes.  I will definitely have to check it out!

Pam - yeah, i know i'm going to have to take the leap.  I think that clothes shopping has been such a painful experience for so long that LB became the "least painful" place to go for me... even if I was in a hurry or it was a "fat day" (ha - they were ALL fat days, but you know what i mean - those days where you're just feeling blech) i knew I could at least find something in my size.  That was "safe" and "reassuring" to me.  But I do need to make that break and venture out.

Thank you all, also, for the gentle pushes in the right direction mentally!  I need them!

Karen,
I just wanted to say that is a really great WOW moment. You truly need to divorce Lane Bryant and Liz is right Kohl's has really nice things that are so inexpensive. You have done an incredible job since just April!! I miss the honeymoon stage when I was dropping sizes right and left. I have only lost about 30lbs since last December but the scale is still moving so not complaining. Congratulations again and keep up the good work.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!
