Does anyone regret having the gastric bypass?

I, too, am behind, as I've had computer issues with my home computer and te*****ally should not be using my work computer for this stuff, but hey, it's slow up here at the front desk (lol) and I got to keep busy someway. . .

Anyway, I am 19 months post-op and while my weight loss was slower than some, and I have not yet reached goal, I am healthier and happier than I've been in years and I know that one day at a time, so long as I stick with the rules of the pouch, which is protein, fluids, vitamins and exercise (that is the part I've slacked a bit on since returning to work) I will get to my personal goal!  NO REGRETS!

The food restrictions are what they are, low fat and sugary carbs, as in refined sugars, mostly.  I don't miss that stuff for the most part and most any recipe can be adapted for our lifestyles and shared with our families as they, in most cases, will be none the wiser unless you clue them in.

Wishing you the best as you pursue healthier and more active living!

I have NOT had the RNY but wanted to encourage you to investigate all surgery types if you haven't already to be sure the RNY meets YOUR needs. Not the needs of your surgeon.

There are several options that exist and very few people hear of them all because they only know of one surgery and that's what their Dr. said they could have done.

I'm two months out.  I've lost 45lbs so far.  I don't regret it for a minute.  It's not easy..giving up food and not being able to eat much for awhile...but it's totally worth it.  My ONLY regret is that I didn't do this sooner!

Good luck to you!

Wow, Kelly that is an awesome drop in weight.  Congratulations.  I had the first of my 3 weigh ins this week for insurance.  I get to schedule my surgery on Aug 11th.  Seems like it will never come.  Kelly, what does your typical food day consist of?  Do you think you can provide me an example?  I appreciate it and way to go Kelly.

Thanks.
