So, I was watching Big Medicine on Discovery Health last night and there were 3 interesting stories this time.

1st was a follow up on Alan.  He started out over 1000 lbs and got down to 350 or something like that. He hadn't walked in 7 years.  They put him into a pool with Dr. Garth and a trainer and other people and he walked laps through the pool..it gave me chills jus****ching him.  He fit into a regular size ambulance on a regular stretcher.. amazing story.

Next was a woman who had gastric bypass back in the 1970's and she only lost about 40 lbs because either her pouch wasn't made small enough or it just stretched.  They went in and did the Stomaphyx to close off her pouch more.

The plastics case reminded me of Bekah from the lightweights board.  This woman on the show lost a ton of weight and had a lower body and breast lift done.  She was having a lot of pain in her tailbone, so they actually went in and removed it while they were doing her lift.  They showed her getting on a bicycle with her kids watching and just having the freedom to do so much more without all her excess skin! She started out at 363 and now weighs 130!! Holy crap!

I loved it..he got so excited being in the pool.  I feel so bad for all the skin he needs removed.  I hope they do that on his legs soon so he can walk more.  He is about 435 I am pretty sure they said, which means he should be able to be almost "normal" if all that skin was gone.

It was interesting to see the other procedure also.  Nice to know there is a non invasive option for people who need it.
