my weight is kind of free falling in the past few days since my surgery. I was pretty stead at 179 and was only losing a pound or two a month now...and all of a sudden I've lost 5lbs in 3 days. (i know some of it is the tissue and skin they removed) and I'm not complaining....but I'm wondering if the trauma of the operation has kicked my pouch back in to gear or done something with my metabolsim. I have little to no appetite and when I do eat something I feel very full right away.

anyone else experience this?

I lost 14 pounds after my gallbladder surgery with much the same pouch feelings. You'll probably loose a few more in the next few days as the swelling goes down and you loose the fluids they pumped you full of in the hospital!

weight loss is such a funny thing and I sure don't understand it, but I know that I lost 109lbs the first year I was post-op and I had wanted to lose about 120. Over the course of the following year, I lost the next 11 (give or take) in small spurts when I least expected it... good for you... hooray... I love when pouch starts working again like it's brand new... keeps me on track

Cool beans!  Keep in mind some of it is the fluids they pumped you full of.  I would expect a minor regain after your fluid purging is done (boo hiss)

But hey - take it any way you can!

Hey Mel,
I have no desire to eat what so ever since my surgery. I know I need to eat but when I do I feel horrible. I just can't stomach it. I haven't weighed myself in over a week since I am yet to make it up stairs. I know eating is part of healing so I am really struggling. Good luck and you look great.

Take care,
Tracy
