I have 10 more days til my surgery!!! I just wanted to let everyone know I lost 3 more pounds and now I am 322...and I have 3 more pounds to lose before surgery. However, I am certain I got those 3 pounds in the bag since for the last few days Aunt flo has been in town and well we all know how we gain tha****er weight with that....so I am praying that I keep the pounds off and I am soo nervous and excited at the same time!!! I am walking everyday over at this park by my house that has a track to walk around and I have been walking about 4 times and I am going to work my way up to 12 times eventually. I think I have been getting to excited and worried about losing the ten pounds needed before surgery that I am walking way to much because my body is feeling it now..my ankles hurt and my feet especially on the sides...IDK...Guess I have to get used to that until the feeling goes away. Oohh and how do I relax my husband for that day of the surgery?? and How long is the surgery suppose to be?

be sure to drink alot of water.. it will help u lose the water weight faster... more u drink more u will get rid of... weird but true... and ur gona think im crazy but u will learn to love the pain that comes from working out.. its how u measure how well u did that day.. the exaustion even helps u sleep better an wake more alert.. it does go away.. but then u work even harder to get it back.. cuz u feel like u must not be doing enough cuz ur no longer in pain.. ankles and feet pain... u might need to look into more supportive shoes.. we tend to buy what looks "pretty" not for function.. but a great pair of walking shoes are so worth it.. an there are some nice ones out there just have to look for them..best advice i can give on relaxing hubby is make him feel useful.. write out a list of things he needs to do while u are in hospital an for when u first get home that way he wont feel lost an men do better when they have a task.. a project even.. if he thinks hes doing something for u even better... because he will feel helpless other wise.. an useless like hes not needed... an i dont know about u but untill i went for surgery mine hadnt spent a nite without me in 10yrs... so i made sure he had things to keep him occupied at home for the few days i was gone.. like a few movies i knew he would like... his cds. made him his fav food so he could just heat an eat... i had open RNY + gallbladder removal 5hrs

I believe its a 2-3 hour surgery, the rest of the time you will be in recovery.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

Tell hubby when they take you back to run over to the mall or a restaurant and grab some breakfast/lunch. That's what my Mom did - she was gone about 20 minutes - 1/2 hour but it was enough to get her mind off things (and get some coffee!) lol

You are doing great - those last 3 pounds should come off in the next 10 days - LOTS of water!

That's just what my hubby did too. Hershey had a starbucks in the lobby so he took his computer and had some coffee! Good luck to you
