The day of surgery...
First thing that they will do is get you weighed and do a urine pregnancy test (just in case), they'll take you in to the prep room and have you change into a gown and put on a hair net/cap thingy. They'll then get you hooked up to an IV and ask about 1000 questions, you'll meet the anastesiologist and the surgeon will come in and ask even more questions (most are repeats). They then wheel you into the OR and you get positioned on the table. They are busy prepping around you and it is COLD in there but it is less then 5 minutes and they'll start the anestesia.
IT is a lot of commotion and waiting but it goes quickly.
Hope this helps!

Pretty sure I must have been drugged before actually getting into the OR. Is that possible? I remember being on the rolling table and making my way to the doors and then the surgery was over...no memories at all. Is that strange?
Oh, and what else to expect....I did NOT expect over an hour wait in the waiting room until finally being brought back to start the process. Yo!

Before you go into the OR, it is not uncommon for them to give you a little happy juice through your IV. My wife had surgery years ago and does not remember anything after being wheeled out of the room to the OR. I remembered everything up to the point when they put the mask over my face in the OR, told me to have a nice nap, and then BOOM awake in recovery. You will have some blood work done and a 1000 questions asked like mentioned above.
