Ever stop and wonder....
And say "who the hell is this?"
That's what I did today. After working up a sweat doing 30 minutes of roller blading I came home, finished my bottle of water (like the 3rd one today plus 20 ounces decaf tea) and wanted my "lunch" so I grabbed my bowl of edamame and am eating them.
I'm so grateful...cause this time2 years ago I would have A) never been outside let alone rollerblading (it's humid here today) and B) Honestly and truly didn't know the word edamame, let alone eat them.
It's a good day today :)

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

You go girl!!!! How exciting to not recognize yourself because your truly living such a "new" life! Roller blading is not an adventure I think I want tho, lol, but busting around Longwood Gardens last week WITHOUT losing my breath was FANTASTIC and exciting to take in more of the grounds then was EVER possible before. You living the life....WOOOOoooHOOOOOOO!!!
regards, keri
Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass... it's about learning to dance in the rain. --Author Uknown
Saturday morning got up and walked the dog, cleaned and organized the 2 car garage, took mom to get her hair done (and my nails) - dropped her off at home and went shopping - Christmas Tree Shop; Bed, Bath & Beyond; and then Giant. Got home and unloaded the car and all the stuff I bought - ran out and picked up dinner, walked the dog.
Sunday walked the dog, tore my bedroom apart - took down curtains, washed windows and baseboards, vacuumed places that hadn't seen a vacuum since moving in 4 years ago, and started laundry (4 loads). Oh, and power-washed my nasty bathroom! Went to Lowe's with hubby in the afternoon and helped him load 5 50 lb bags of mulch into the cart, then from the car onto the patio, swept that and the porch and walkway. Made dinner on the grill. Walked the dog.
Monday walked the dog, took down curtains in the living and family rooms and washed them, cleaned windows and baseboards and again moved furniture and cleaned mouldings, etc, Vacuumed the entire house, then polished the hardwood floors in the living & dining room and kitchen. Finished laundry and put it all away. Took mom to the oncologist, came home and finished making dinner, walked the dog, then relaxed with neighbors.
If someone had told me 2 years ago that I would have the energy and ambition to do a schedule like this in 3 days I would have laughed in their faces - I didn't really sweat that much - I didn't huff and puff - I climbed up and down the stepstool with the curtains and I'm not sure my house has ever been this clean!!
I know I amazed the heck out of my mother who watched me doing all this and of course was worried that I was over-doing it - don't get me wrong - I am bone-assed tired today but damn its a good feeling to know I can do that kind of stuff now. But honestly, don't ask me what the heck edamame is because I have NO CLUE!! LOL!!

Wow Kathy...that is a TON of work. I can say I don't have that type of ambition. Although it is not about my activity level...it's the whole cleaning thing :) If you run out of things to clean at your house, I'll give you directions over here
Edamame is soybeans, by the way :) I learned that this year!

Yeah, then my neighbor came out last night after being on his treadmill and had the nerve to tell me that housework wasn't 'real' work!! I would have kicked his butt if I had had the energy - his wife did it for me
And I've decided that after these 3 days I could never be a professional house cleaner - OMG it was hard enough in my own home - can't imagine doing someone else's!!

Pam I do this at least once a day. For example yesterday I had no time to plan a decent lunch and was starving. So I ran over to Subway and this is what I ordered;
Hi! Can I please have a 6 inch turkey and swiss on 9 grain oat and could you please pull out all the breading and just leave the crust and can you please cut it in half.
Then can I have lettuce, tomato, a little bit of mustard and black pepper.
In the old days this would have been a 12" turkey and swiss with lots of mayo and a bag of chips and I would have eaten it all and been hungry!
I love the new ME!

That's so great! I think that sometimes when I'm picking up clothes. I'm like REALLY, is that what you are going to pick? Or when I'm out at dinner and I order something like a hamburger I take a bite of it and I'm done, or I pull the bread off and just eat the meat.
Or like this weekend when I ordered a hamburger from a diner and I ate it for literally 5 meals over 3 days.
Or even when I can get some of my SF moose tracks icecream and not eat the whole 1/2 cup of it and just leave it to melt or toss it.
Good stuff!
