somebody anybody I gaining weight
Hi, I am looking for some help I am gaining weight I started out at 331 and my lowest was 201 now I back up to 267 according my wii scale. I mean some days I don't eat a lot then there are days they I go non stop. But I have thing happen health wise tht set me back. I had broke my foot, the past few months I have needles in my back then colonoscopy Upper GI. Then having all the tests to figure out why I am gaining

I had gastric bypass on 1-19-07, am out two years, was 362 preop and 222 postop. I have gained about 20 pounds, my problem is poor food choices and no exercise. i am more convienced now that not only is it diet, but exercise too. any suggestions how I can make exercising a passion? keep up the faith, I love your motto, I can do all things through christ, hallelueh and amen!!!
Have you been food journaling? If not, I strongly suggest you start so you can be accountable with yourself and give us a better idea as to what you are up against. Perhaps old habits have snuck back in. Carbs especially.
obviously the lack of exercise due to your foot issue is something that is adding to the problem. But perhaps (I'm assuming your cast and what not is off) something like water aerobics would be beneficial to help get you moving without putting pressure on your foot and/or back.
Start with the basics. 64+ ounces of DECAF NON CARBONATED fluids a day.
Protein goals.
No drinking with meals
No grazing - PLANNED meals/snacks only
4-6 meals a day, spaced 2-4 hours a part
Protein first, veggies second, carbs ONLY if there is room
Measured amounts.
Do not attempt to do all of this all at the same time. It can be so stressful it ends up derailing you once again. Make one change at least for a day or two and once you have "that" down, move on to the next one.
Stay close to here and be accountable. Sometimes we can lie to ourselves and make excuses so convincing you believe them.
Another member (Greg) once told someone "We can help you tie your shoes, but we can't walk for you" and that is soooo true. Many of us (myself included) have struggled at one time or another...but it IS possible to get back.

Thanks so much for the info. I did get lacked on not counting my calories yeah so old hasbits started creeping back in.On top of that all my meds and my hormones are are all whack I about to enter into menopause in July I will hav gone a full year without a cycle. Trust me I don't miss it but its behard for me to accept the fact that i can't have any kids but I my 3 cats. The hot flashes have me miserable. Just falling all apart at the seams
