Dr Dumon did my RNY exactly one year ago.  I loved him!  He's kind and attentive.  I can't say that for everyone on his staff, though.  Kara, one of the two nutritionists is equally wonderful.

Did you discuss both procedures with him?  He was soooo open to discussing my ideas and concerns.

I did not discuss both procedures with him.  I initially thought that I wanted a lap band but with my history it doesn't sound like the best option for me.  So I had not really researched RNY and DS as much before I met with him.  He doesn't do DS.  He did seem open to options so I will have to speak with him more. 

I read some of your other post about your post op complications.  Sounds like a difficult time.  I did not get the warm fuzzies from my pre-op expereince at HUP.   I felt like they gave me all the info and set me free to make appointment.    I am going to an info meetin aAbington next week.

 I highly recommend the DS and Dr. Bonnani at Abington hospital.  Glad you are going to thier info session!  Keep an open mind and explore all your options.  Visit us on the DS board if you have any questions.  Good luck with your decision and good for you for doing your research!! 

Dr Dumon did my gastric bypass surgery on 9/22/08.  He was fine.  I saw him for my initial consultation, then for about one minute the day after my surgery.  I did have issues with Sarah, his admin person.  I felt like I needed to be very diligent about phone calls and follow ups.  But don't let that stand in your way.  I think the bypass is the better weight loss surgery option.  I have had great results with mine.   Please feel free to contact me.
